These arrived in time for the last 2 days of the Jan 2024 cold snap and they did a good job, using less energy. So I have this 60w bulb being tested inside an 18inch tall melamine fully enclosed enclosure. I have an electric thermometer sitting directly under it on a wooden round bark hide and while house stays 75, this spot hasn't quite reached 90 degrees. So I'd say this increases interior enclosure temp by about 10deg from ambient in a 3x2x18 in the hot spot. I need this spot to reach 90-95 so will be trying a 75w next. ... show more

The product was fantastic as disigned. I bought it to "help" with a heated cabinet I built but this thing is to powerful. "Absolutely my fault for underestimating". Heats up fast and reliably. But make sure you have space for it. Product is exactly as discribed.

I just installed this today, so far so good I needed an additional heat source for my frog other than her heating pad, she has been basking under it for a couple hours so all is looking good, the 25W is the perfect temperature for her enclosure (estimated 75 F.) I was worried the higher wattage would melt the plastic or dry out the enclosure, I made the right call, 25w is perfect. Same issue my previous orders had. The end of the socket gets to hot and it melts away the cheap end til it can't make a connection. This time the silver tip ontop of the cheap plastic insulator slide down the side and almost completely off. It lasted less than 2 months.
