Bought one for my wife's rifle. I was shocked with the clarity. The illuminated reticle is excellent. A single dot in the middle. It's not like most IR scopes where the entire cross hair lights up and flares the lense. Couldn't get better for the price.

I really liked this scope after receiving it from Amazon but the .25 reticles are just to large for my 17 WSM if it had a thinner .10 I must say I would be ecstatic. It's a little heavy, but doesn't feel cheap, click adjustments are distinct and clarity is very good. If it was just doing paper I may have lived with it but I enjoy targeting empty old brass like .223 and 6.5 @ 100 yards down the throat or rear primer pocket. Great fun and a challenge. ... show more

This scope was mounted with QD rings on a AR-15 flat top upper. Great fit, and the variable illuminated red dot will be a help for those late night coyotes! These Aetec scopes have to be seen to be believed. Try one, you'll like it-

For the money the scope cannot be beat I'm one now and absolutely love it I have on one in the past and this one is just as good as the one I own years ago so sad to hear they're not going to be offering them anymore.

I haven't had a chance to take this to the range yet, but my initial impressions are favorable. It arrived securely packaged. Upon opening, you can see that it was a brand-new, never before purchased item. All features are functional. Terrific ability to focus up close (Squirrels Beware). I will update this review after the first range session. Although this scope is currently priced at $259, I purchased mine from Amazon about a week ago at $160...I should have ordered 3 or 4 additional ones at that price ... show more

The scope itself is pretty decent, but I think it may not be new. The elevation knob's set screws were stripped on arrival and I could not "zero" the knob. The clarity and low-light viability are good in my opinion, but I don't have lots of experience with high-end optics. The dot gets decently bright for daytime and appropriately dark for low light. The only thing that illuminates is the center dot. It is small enough to get decent accuracy, but in bright light, it might not be quite enough to draw the eye in quick situations. For the money, I think it's a great optic. I've looked through some much higher price optics, I liked their reticles better, but I found the clarity of the glass, especially around the edges to be a little better on this. ... show more

The focus range on the AETEC series goes from 15 yards to infinity. Most scopes start at 25 to 50 yards. Good value.

Incredibly underrated scope. This model and the Whitetail classic are the best kept secrets in the gun world. I think I'm gonna buy some extras in case Simmons discontinued this line. They are extremely high quality for their price.
