Description

SilverStone ALTA D1 is a workstation mega-tower chassis designed for various applications in hyper-converged and high-computational fields, epitomizing modularity. It supports industry-standard motherboards up to SSI-EEB workstation motherboards and custom form factor sizes like Supermicro proprietary boards measuring 15.12" x 13.2". The chassis boasts 11 expansion slots, allowing for a dual-CPU, multi-GPU system, making it ideal for high computational tasks. The highlight of this case lies within the top half of the chassis, which features modular cages that enable users to install components based on their system requirements, offering the freedom to redefine system component locations and explore endless configuration possibilities. The upper half of the chassis incorporates modular bays. Depending on system requirements, these bays can accommodate the included modular drive cages or cooling brackets. The accessories include two modular cages, each supporting 2 x 5.25" ODD, 2 x 3.5" HDD, or 4 x 2.5" SSDs. On the cooling side, two fan/radiator brackets are included, supporting 3 x 120mm radiators or a single 360mm radiator. If the system is intended for mass storage, users can mount the modular bays with their desired devices (additional modular cages can be purchased separately to increase overall storage capacity). For extreme cooling systems, the modular bays can be fitted with the cooling brackets for exceptional cooling efficiency. Users can also mix and match cooling and storage components to achieve the desired balance of efficiency and capacity. For high-end systems designed to accommodate high computational power draws and requirements, the support offered by a secondary PSU can be beneficial, providing extra performance and stability. Therefore, a secondary PSU bracket with 4 expansion slots is included. This bracket adds an additional 4 slots to the standard 7 slots on the chassis, resulting in a total of 11 expansion slots, which allows for the installation of multiple workstation compute cards, such as the A6000. In conclusion, the ALTA D1 is constructed with high-grade steel, providing exceptional durability and robustness for the most demanding applications. Its modular design, extensive cooling options, and support for various components make it an ideal choice for building high-performance workstations. The ALTA D1's flexibility and capacity ensure it can meet the diverse needs of users in hyper-converged and high-computational fields, making it a top-tier choice for professionals seeking a reliable and customizable chassis for their systems.

  • Wheels not included.....
If your planning to buy this. The wheels is not included (search for "RAC-SRW-001" in amazon/google). It is separated. Felt like as an $800 Case. The wheels ($20) should be included. Also the 4 top 5.25 drive bay in top front or top back of the case. It is currently not in sale yet if you plan to get more space for your hard drives. So, it only comes with 2 hard drives bay which is in the back. If you plan to put your Power Supply at the bottom back of the case. While the hard drives on top back or front of the case. Make sure to get an "Data and Power" Sata Cable extender. Something that goes more than 18 inch. Likely 6ft or more. I used "GELRHONR 22Pin SATA Power Extension Cable" with any Sata cable. It should work. ... show more

  • Unacceptably BAD quality for a $800 case
I was very excited for this case after seeing it at the Computex show. After seeing that it was finally available for purchase, I jumped on it as one of the first purchasers. While it offers unparalleled flexibility that is in a league of its own with integrated modular design and flexible bays that be configured for the deployment, I am *EXTREMELY* disappointed with the quality of the screw threads made at the factory for the case. I am floored that quality control passed crooked, stripped, and entirely-MISSING threads. As a purchaser of a $800+ case after tax, I should not be having to tap my own threads! If only caselabs was still a competitor, they would never ship a case with flaws like this. ... show more

  • It's a great case...
It's a great case... I did not encounter issues building in the case but you might need a small wrench socket to screw in the motherboard standoffs.
