  • Perfect! Takes projector to next level! Must buy!
Size: 16:9, 150" Color: Grey Material
This screen is simply amazing. We recently built a theater room in our home so we had to learn from scratch what makes a great theater experience. Let me tell you, the heart of a great projector picture is in the screen. We got the new samsung ultra short throw (love) which advertises it can be used on a bare wall. It can - but let me tell you nothing replaces what a high quality screen can do. We tried several screens in different colors. We chose the “grey” (which is closer to greyish off white than grey grey) because it gives the best of blacks and whites, which means your shadows won’t be too dark and your highlights won’t be blown out. (Really important) The second we put the projector against this screen the difference was unimaginable! It was absolutely stunning! Far better than the movie theaters (sorry but true). Here’s what surprised me the most though. We bought a cheap little $80 projector from Amazon for an outdoor event for a niece. We were curious and used it against this screen for fun. Against this screen, the image quality was amazing! We were able to use that tiny little projector at full 130”, which it was rated for like 50” max, and still get great quality. I’m convinced now, when you consider projectors, invest in a great screen. This screen is it! I was worried about putting it together but with two of us we had it together in about 20 minutes. They were really creative in how they designed it and putting it together is easy. Due to this particular screen’s large size it is a challenge to hang but its light weight, its more about balancing it than anything. Can’t recommend this enough! ... show more

  • Beautiful Screen, Good Frame, Excellent Customer Service
Size: 16:9, 100" Color: Grey Material
First off let me say I work in the film industry and I'm very particular with the quality of my images at home. I also did not want to spend an insane amount of money on my setup, so I looked long and hard and researched for the best balance. When I originally bought my BenQ HT2050 projector from Fry's, I bought a four piece 100" fixed frame screen there as well for the same price as this screen. After unpacking the screen, I realized it was a high-gain (3.0) shiny silver screen. I installed it to see how it looked, and I could not stand the shininess and hot-spotting it had. I researched long and hard for the perfect screen and was stuck between the Silver Ticket White matte and the grey screen. I ended up going with the grey since my room is a multi-purpose room with no way to fully black it out all the time and the light paint on the walls, hoping it would knock down the ambient light. When I got this screen and set it up, I immediately loved how clean and crisp the image was. It wasn't in any way distorting the picture like the shiny screen, and felt much more like a print than a super bright TV blasting light into my eyes. The viewing angle is incredible, and there's no hot spots. Overall image quality is excellent. Crisp, smooth, and great color rendition. The grey isn't very grey at all, so it doesn't affect the image in any negative way but just helps give a little extra deepness to the black levels, especially with the ambient light in my room. It is still a projector, so the blacks will never be as good as my plasmas were, but the image overall is amazing with my BenQ DLP. The construction of the frame gets 4/5 stars from me. The 6 piece frame doesn't bother me, and is actually better than the last screen in that it doesn't skew from the screen tension. With the last 4 piece screen the opposite corners bowed forward, causing the image to not line up correctly. The only negative to the 6 piece design is that I currently have most of the weight resting on my center channel speaker, so the edges are sagging slightly, but that's more my problem for not having it correctly hung at the moment due to the location of the screen. Another part that's a little bit cheap is the plastic pins that the tension rods clip over. These are made of a soft plastic that bends a bit under pressure. I was afraid they would bend enough that the tension rods would pop off, but it's been up for a few weeks and not been a problem. Once assembled and put on the wall, it looks fantastic so without knowing the pins aren't very sturdy, it doesn't affect the look or screen tension in any way. My one real issue with this screen was a minor defect, a 5 inch long scratch on the screen material. It wasn't noticeable at all until I was projecting an actual image on the surface, and even then only noticeable from certain angles, but when it became visible, it was quite bad. I sent an email with a picture to the seller, and they responded immediately and had a new screen sent to my door within a few days. This screen was flawless, so I commend the seller for their fantastic service and promptness in fixing my issue. Pros: Excellent image quality with my projector Huge viewing angle with no hot spots. Great at helping cut down ambient light. Great black levels for a projection setup. Nice looking frame. Relatively easy to set up. Great customer service. Cons: Pins that hold tension rods are made of cheap plastic and not very strong. Frame isn't quite as well made as some more expensive models I've seen (but not enough to justify the cost differences) 6 Piece frame needs two points of support, and can't be supported just by the center of the screen, or it will bend slightly. Overall the negatives are such a moot point considering all the great qualities of the screen and the excellent price point! ... show more

  • A very good screen at an economy price.
Size: 16:9, 120" Color: Grey Material
I am really impressed with the image quality this screen provides. I have the Epson 5050UB projector in my living room with minimal room treatments. I will have blackout curtains on the windows, but don't plan to paint the walls or ceiling, which are currently white. I was concerned about ending up with a washed out image due to poor light control. I come from an 82" Samsung Q70R with excellent contrast, so black levels are important to me. Right away after assembling and hanging the screen, I was impressed with the contrast and black levels, even with light coming in through the windows. Once it's dark, the image explodes off the screen. The Revenant, followed by Ready Player One, both in 4K, looked amazing. The 5050UB is known for it's great blacks and contrast but this image is everything I had hoped for. I went with the light grey to give the black level a little boost and I am very pleased with the result. As far as colors and the rendering of bright daylight images, this screen and projector combo are a knock out. The sun through the trees in The Revenant made us want sunglasses. The dark scene detail is also amazing. Something even my QLED TV could never do. For those wondering, the screen was actually easy to assemble. Just be sure you have a large open area of floor and vacuum before you start. I was worried about the process, stretching the screen, but it really does go together nicely. The center support bar went in smoothly also. Note to the novices: don't forget to install the hanging brackets before you assemble the frame corners. I did forget and ended up having to make hanging brackets to fit the frame rather than disassemble it to install the hangers. All in all, it turned out excellent. I highly recommend the Silver Ticket light gray screen with the Epson 5050UB. ... show more

  • Outstanding Screen. Great Engineering & Phenomenal value
Size: 16:9, 110" Color: Grey Material
When I bought my first home theater projector back in 2002, commercial fixed screen were expensive! I needed a 106" screen and that would have cost me thousands of dollars! So, I made a DIY screen with blackout cloth and painted it with a cine gray (black widow) formulation from one of the home theater forums. It was great! I repainted it a few times and everyone who came home loved the picture for the past 13 years. When I saw this product and the ratings, I was tempted. I actually wanted the 120" screen but the location I had in my basement could not fit that screen. Thanks to my wife for pointing out that the iron column would block the screen! So, I ordered the 110" screen. The product is packaged very well and I especially liked the fact that they had all the fasteners & brackets in reclosable zip-lock bags, The frame is well made and the black felt covering is great! Assembling the 6 pieces to make the rectangle frame was a breeze. The angle/corner brackets are quite sturdy and precisely machined. When fully tightened, the frame edges fit perfectly. Here's where I had an issue with the manual. It does not clearly say when to slide in the wall hanging brackets into the frame. I thought that they could go in AFTER the frame was fully assembled. They don't. I had to unhook the screen, disassemble the frames and slide the brackets and the reassemble. I suggest that you slide in these brackets before you slide in the plastic pins where you hook up the screen. Another suggestion has to do with the center support brace. The manual would have you do it as the last step. I would suggest that you don't. It will be impossible to insert the brace in the slots unless you are a gym rat. It requires pulling on the long sides. With the frame assembled and the taut screen, it was not possible. After you insert the corner brackets and have a rectangular frame, insert the wall brackets and the plastic pins. Do not fully tighten the screws. Follow the screen preparation process with the edge rods and lay it inside the frame. At this point, insert the brace in the two slots and above the screen material.. Now tighten the screws and follow the screen stretching. I loved the screen stretching process. It was great to see the tension building up and the screen forming flawlessly. Next I hung the screen on the wall, fired up the projector and brought up the wide screen calibration pattern from the Avia Home Theater calibration disc. With some adjustment (thanks to the sliding wall brackets) the pattern was centered. I proceeded to calibrate the projector for this new screen with the Avia calibration patterns. I tested the results with some video test materials (DTS & Dolby demos) from the Avia disc. The image was stunning and waaaaaay better than my DIY painted screen. The black level was astounding and the colors seemed richer. There is some light spill outside the screen area, but the black frame just absorbs that completely and I ended up with a crisp clean rectangle. I highly recommend this screen. It is a great value and I can't wait to get a 4K projector next! ... show more

  • I cursed less than 10 times during assembly!
So far so good for a budget-friendly screen. Well, depending on your budget. Quick back story; I bought my first projector last summer (Optoma GT1080... that's next on the list to be upgraded) and started "building" my first home theater from there. I was projecting on a beige wall for a few months, then graduated to $18 white eggshell paint from Menard's, and finally upgraded to a real screen. At least a real entry-level screen. My painted screen was 140" 16:9, and while it was HUGE and cool, it was admittedly too ambitious for the room size (10W x 14L). I decided on 2.35:1 since we are watching more movies now that we were originally. I also play PS4 and XBO, so having a smaller 16:9 area on this Silver Ticket screen is actually much easier on the eyes. I plan to make some masking panels for 16:9 content here one of these days. SCREEN: 4.5/5 Stars The screen itself is pretty great so far! I'm loving the grey as opposed to white. It seems to be reflecting less light around the room than the white paint did, which means my picture isn't being washed out as much. Our walls are a very dark bluish-green in eggshell, so they aren't too reflective. The black levels are much better on the Silver Ticket screen than I got with the paint, and the clarity of the screen is also much better since it doesn't have that texture from being painted on with a roller. :P BUILD QUALITY: 3.5/5 Stars The build quality is...questionable. There were a few screw holes that were clearly drilled in the wrong place and then re-drilled, and re-drilled, and re-drilled until a hole that was supposed to be about 1/4 inch round, was 1/4 inch tall and an inch long. I still managed to get the screws to stay with washers I had on hand. ASSEMBLY: Ouch/5 Stars The instructions were actually fine, which isn't what I was expecting after reading other Silver Ticket screen reviews. And the assembly went swimmingly until I got to the last two steps: stretching the screen, and installing the vertical center bar. I'm fairly strong... Like, a few steps stronger than "I can carry boxes for my grandma" strong. But stretching the screen to fit on the last little plastic things was like trying to stretch a piece of wood. I didn't think it was actually going to happen, but after a solid 10 minutes it finally stretched just enough. It really doesn't look like it's going to stay, but so far it is. And the vertical center bar that goes in last took equally as long and ended in a pretty painful cut on my finger and a sort of smashed fingernail. I literally had to hammer the bar into place, carefully yet forcefully. All that said, the screen looks wonderful when it's up. My picture I posted isn't the best, but I'll post more later when I have time. I think when it's time to upgrade, I'll call the local home theater place and have them assemble and install the next one for me. But for now, this thing does the trick! I'm very happy with it, especially for the price. $280 for a good screen is a fine deal in my book. Just be prepared to curse when you're stretching the screen, and definitely get an assistant to help you. My wife was gone last night when I was putting it together so I had to fly solo. ... show more

  • Highly recommended purchase
Size: 16:9, 110" Color: Grey Material
After reading all the reviews, I was questioning how easy this screen would be. After hemming and hawing about whether to buy another brand locally (in Canada), I took the plunge to have a Silver Ticket delivered to the mail stop on the other side of the border and drive down this afternoon to pick it up. I must say that the positive reviews are on point, and I really do not get why everyone has had so many problems. It took me 40 minutes - start to finish - to assemble the screen (not including the time to carefully inspect the parts as I removed them from the well thought out packaging. No parts were damaged, all were accounted for (with a few spares), and all were properly made (ie. no missing cut outs, frame was cut to correct length. Assembly of the frame took about 15 minutes. No alignment problems at all. Would have taken less if I didn’t slice my thumb on the aluminum frame (this, actually, was the only negative part of the experience). Unrolling the screen material onto the frame was also easy. Although it took a little time to insert the rods, it wasn’t frustratingly difficult at all. Following the recommendation in the instructions, snapping the screen onto the lugs starting in the centre was a … snap! No wrinkles to be seen. And for that cross-brace that everyone is complaining about? I don’t get it. My wife held one side in place while I tapped the other end in with a regular hammer and block of wood. Took two minutes and is rock solid. As far as the finished product is concerned, I’m happy. My wife says she can’t tell the difference with our Epson 4030 projecting on the grey screen as compared to projecting on our new house walls with builder grey paint. I can, though (perhaps a bit of it is because I need to justify the purchase, but I really do notice a difference). The picture is sharper and the whites are not as warm as they were when projecting on the wall. I am wondering if we should have bought the white material, but the blacks and ability to watch with ambient light were much more important, and this screen will be perfect after the room treatments and darker wall paint are applied. And yes...it smells like I climbed into a big beach ball, but it's not foul and nothing I think is worthy of complaint. The only bad thing, perhaps, is that I didn’t get to test out the company’s infamous customer service <wink> (well, besides slicing my thumb, that is). ... show more

  • Great durable screen [120", Grey Material]
Size: 16:9, 120" Color: Grey Material
The screen is beautiful. Everything is very high quality and it was not very hard to set up. I would recommend having a mallet to help with the tension rod, but other than that, a breeze. Picture looks fantastic on it. The grey material helps when you can't really get the room totally dark. It's not as bright as white, but it helps with contrast with some light pollution. Quick story/warning/praise for the screen: I hung it on the only wall it would fit on- marble tile in the living room. Found out shortly after the attached photos that the stuff was hung pretty shoddily. So the wall... shifted a bit. I had used industrial strength velcro to hang the screen which worked like a charm for the wall. (CAUTION) the sliding hooks for hanging were so slick (some sort of coating?) that the velcro tape just popped off after maybe a day. The velcro I used is really strong stuff. The tape just popped off and was super sticky still. Rectified by sanding hooks lightly and applying a small amount of super glue before placing the velcro tape back on to the sliding hooks. So here's where I'm going to praise this screen's durability- it had fallen forward into the mic stand for my pc in the first picture. It was leaning on two things: 1. Mic stand. 2. Receiver... both left huge divots in the screen. I came home from work one day and my stomach dropped. I thought it was destroyed. I had to take care of a bunch of stuff that day, so I didn't have time to think of a solution. Ended up leaving the screen on the wall on the right. Left it for 24hrs~ When i came back around to it, I was going to try a heat gun, warm it up and hope the stretchy screen would bounce back. No need. The screen had returned to normal. Like 100%. Had one of my friends look for the blemishes in the daylight and he couldn't find them. I was even pointing out the spots. 5/5 for durability! Overall awesome projector screen.
