I like these boots. They are just what I wanted. I ordered them for Halloween and special occassion wear. But the zipper sticks on the right boot. I have tried a few things to try to make it work easier, but nothing helps. I hope to use these for several years. I worry the stress on the stiff zipper will be too much.

These are exactly the same model and much better quality of the upper side of my old USD$100 Steve Madden Martin/ Combat Boots. They are SO comfy. The laces are functional but you can easily wear them as they have a working zipper in the inside side. They are layered in breathable textile and the sole is very comfy. I have rather wide ankles and the zip can be closed to the top. They are round shaped and wide enough to be used for painful feet conditions, such as Hallux Valgus or Fascitis, without pressuring anywhere or causing pain (I have both problems on my feet and it is a nightmare to get proper shoes for me). Size: Usually I am 8 and ordered a 8,5 thinking of using them with thick socks + fasciitis insole in the back side and painful hallux valgus and they fitted perfectly. Just order your usual size or additional 1/2 size if you want to use insoles of thick socking, sizing is okay. Outer looking: good quality. The color is taupe, not beige, not gray, but something in between. I've used them already several times and they are fine. It's PU, synthetic leather, when you pick them from the box eventually you would say they look kind of "plastic", yes, you won't be able to say it could be real leather, yet has some "light leather texture", overall, they look really really nice when you have them on your feet. They don't look cheap, at all. Sole: good quality. I've used once shoes from China that mark your feet with squares when walking and even feeling some stones beneath your soles, but it is not the case. The walking experience with them is nice. Very comfy and thermal insolation is more than appropriate. Sweaty feet? I would recommend not to think of these ones as regular daily- unique pair. My feet are kind of sweaty and even using cotton blend socks, if you wear them two days in a row they could be a bit smelly. However, when you use it your feet feel fresh and warm during the day. Packaging: they came impeccably packed in a sturdy box and wrapped in silk paper, inside filled with paper to keep the shape intact. Conclusion: best match for a super versatile, girly but classic Martin/ Combat boot without paying too much that looks great, will be with you at least a couple of years and keep you warm and comfy during the day.

Over all these are a nice boot. I did order a half size up (7.5) after reading reviews and I'm glad I did as I think a 7 would have been too tight. I don't have very big calves and I just barely got them zipped up, the opening at the top of the boot is farely narrow in my opinion. Hopefully they'll loosen up a bit with wear at the top. That's the main reason for giving 3 stars.

They do feel really light that is not to say the quality is not good. All I wear is boots like these, and these boots have lasted me more than 6 months. If you are going to be doing hiking or a crazy amount of walking, obviously I don't recommend, use your common sense in that matter. However, I wear these pretty much every day and they are serving their purpose well, I will definitely be buying another pair when these give out.

These boots are great for the price. I got them to compliment my Weird Barbie costume, but I will definitely wear them after Halloween as long as they don't get ruined on the witches' paddle. I ordered an 8-- perfect fit-- not too wide or too narrow. While they aren't leather, they look and feel like leather, and there is no awful synthetic smell. The laces are adjustable which worked well for me-- they are form-fitting when pulled tight. Once you adjust them to your desired fit, you can just use the zipper. I deducted one star because the laces are made of a weird springy material. That's fine for a costume look, but I will get some plain black bootlaces to replace them. Last, the soles are pretty smooth which would make them good for dancing.
