I am not a professional nail tech, but i like to do my own gel nails. I have recently been into nail art and this practice finger is perfect for holding the full-cover nail tips on it so i can create nail art onto the tip. If someone was a professional looking for a practice finger to resemble a human finger, then this is it. Its the normal length of an average human finger. Its slim like a woman's finger would be and its definitely got the feeling of "skin" on it.

I got this practice finger because I loved the idea of being able to plug some full-size tips into this and practice application techniques. As expected, some sizes of full-size tips fit in this perfectly, which is great. But this has a couple big negatives: First, it doesn’t stay up well on its own. And second, since it’s silicone, you can’t really do any substantive cleanup while you’re practicing, as acetone remover will ruin it. For this reason, especially, I feel it’s better suited for display of a practice nail decorated elsewhere, or for showcasing rings or nail techniques in photos when you don’t want to use your own finger. Also, take it from me: Don’t go anywhere near this thing with chrome powder because it will NEVER come all the way off. I dropped mine on accident and had some residual chrome powder on my desk that it fell into. It’s just shiny forever now because I can’t get that off all the way.

My brother and I have a long-standing joke from our childhood. One of us flips off the other, who then tells Mom. "Mom, he's flipping me off!" Sometimes we tell on each other when there's been no birdie flown, and it all exasperates my mom, which is at least half the ridiculous fun of it. It's silly and stupid, but when I saw this finger, I knew I had to get it. My brother will open a beautifully wrapped box on Christmas morning to find this beauty flipping him off! This finger is actually kind of cool, if you have reason to be into that sort of thing. It's surprisingly flexible, and it comes with a couple of fingernails that are easily inserted under the skin in the nail bed. I know it's intended as a practice finger for manicurists, which I am not, but I am really happy with mine. Can't wait to wrap it up and put it under the tree! "Mom, she's flipping me off!"

I got this finger on a whim, but it made sense at the time. My family was like : "Why?!!! WHY WOULD YOU GET THIS FINGER??!!!" But you see, it just seems like a handy thing to have. It is super realistic, you see, and you can use it in photos when you are trying to display a ring, but don't want your own finger in the photo! It does have a deep fingernail well, but you can just stick a press on nail there, and you are good to go!! I love this finger, very realistic as I said, fingerprints even, fine lines where all the bendy creases should be, I'm super impressed. It is a little bit flexible , you can "crook" it just slightly and it will hold like that. Its base though is not physically well designed for balance, I was hoping there was a larger base you could attach it too, but as you see, there is no way to really do that. The size of this finger ranges, the base is close to a size 9, the middle point, right around a ring size 7, and the top of it right around a size 4. (see my photos with the ring measurer on) I had a moment of terror after I ordered it, when I misread the description as being 8" long, and then seeing one of the listing photos, that makes it look HUGE, I was horrified that I might have ordered a giant finger!! But then I figured out it is 8 centimeters, not 8 inches long!! Thank goodness!! It is the size of a normal finger, not oversized. it came with 2 nail forms and a cheaply made storage bag. I think this finger is great, would recommend it in a heartbeat, at least for display photos for rings. Very neat!!!

This silicone finger looks just like a real finger. It has all the detail one’s finger does including fingerprints. There is no fingernail so that a fake one can be inserted to allow for practicing of nail art. You could also use this to practice building acrylic or gel nails and it works very well for that. As a plus you could put on a fake polished nail and use it as a conversation starter or a practical joke. I am quite impressed with the features and the design.
