Snaps right onto the disc version console, similarly to the stock white PS5 plastic plates, so the install could not be easier. There was a small dent in the center, however. The dent appears to have been there from the manufacturing process, not caused by shipping. The plates are plastic, not metal, and plastic doesn't dent. It's not that big of a deal, not very noticeable unless you look for it. Seems a lot of other reviews mention dents as an issue with these face plates. Aside from the dent, these aftermarket face plates look a lot sharper than the dull white OEM PS5 plates. The vents are a bonus, allowing for better airflow and cooling through the console. The shiny finish makes it appear as though the PS5 is made of metal. Not sure how these face plates would improve shock absorption, there's no silicone padding or anything adding a layer of shock absorption. Perhaps the ABS plastic is more durable than the OEM plates, but I wouldn't recommend dropping the console onto a tile or concrete floor to test this theory. Finally one that fits! I've been having trouble finding one that fits the 2020 model disk drive side. This one fits. I suggest start with the drive and move up to make sure it hooks in all slots properly

I wanted to preserve the super shiny look of this so, I decided to ceramic coat the panels. I realized right away that the paint they use is cheap and they don't add a coat of clear over the top. Just wiping the panels with a damp towel, I saw the color bleeding on both the damp and the dry towel. They look great and snapped into place fine, just not very good paint. ... show more
