  • Definitely Waterproof
Size: 9 Color: Black Olive/Yellow
These boots were amazing right out of the box. I bought them the day before leaving for a camping trip. I can't comment on them for long term wear, but they were the only shoes I wore for 3 days and they felt great. My trip was filled with torrential rain, hail, no less than 3in. of mud soup, and even a tornado. These boots did it all and kept me safe and dry in the process. If I had any complaint at all it is at 70 degrees and above they are a tad warm. ... show more

  • Ample toe room
Size: 12 Wide Color: Shitake/Brindle
This is the 2cd pair of Keen hiking shoes I've had and they are the most comfortable by far. The only thing I'd like better would be more cushioning in the heel. I double up the insoles so I order a half size larger. I have sensitive feet that need toe space. I also have confirmed diabetic neuropathy. The only thing more comfortable is flip flops. If I have to have shoes on, these are my choice. ... show more

  • Light and comfortable.
Size: 10 Color: Shitake/Brindle
This brand was recommended by a coworker. I've purchased different boots both expensive and cheap and I like these the most. They are comfortable, light on my feet and overall enjoyable to wear. The biggest compliment of all I can think of is: I don;t even notice I'm wearing them.

  • Love-Hate relationship
Size: 13 Color: Shitake/Brindle
This is my 5th pair. For my feet and a Morton’s toe condition this model Keen has been unequaled in comfort and support although I recommend immediately replacing the insoles with a high quality set for better arch support and thicker material. My Merrills and Hi-TECs had some value to recommend them and much better long lasting construction/durability, but not the equal in comfort level. I wore out several pairs of Targhees hiking the rough central Rockies; enjoyed dry feet in wet conditions hiking Ireland, then Hadrian’s Wall; and definitely challenged the Keens on sharp edged lava rocks in the Oregon Cascades. The uppers did very well. I only had one pair which stitching was a (minor) issue. I hate the durability of the sole construction. Ask any Targhee wearer what they loved ….and what they hated and my guess is it would be comfort ….and tread separation. The sole is a 2 piece arrangement. The glue or bonding of the black tread on the gray foundation fails. When it fails depends on how often and where you wear them, as well as your weight and gait probably, but I had one pair for everyday use on sidewalks or pavement and separation began with 6 months. I am headed for the Camino this summer and my current set of Targhees treads are starting to fail long before they wear down. So here I am, writing my 3rd review of yet another new pair I just bought! Some people never learn maybe. In my case though, I am willing to overlook the flaws. ... show more

  • Worst Pair of Keens I've ever had. Flummoxed.
Size: 10.5 Color: Shitake/Brindle
I love my Keens. I currently own three different pairs of Keen boots for all of my weather and hiking needs. I live in Utah and I hike everywhere. I've worn this brand almost exclusively since 2017. I'm an avid hiker and backpacker. This pair however was totally wrong in every way. I've even worn Targhee 2s a few times before. I'm not new to these boots. But their redesign is totally flawed. I got the size I always do (10.5). This pair is so large that my feet swim around in them. Adding to the uncomfortable problem is that the new Vibram sole is big, chunky, heavy and does not bend. Instead, whenever I take a step, my foot is thrust forward inside the boot and my toes slam into the front of the boot box...relatedly. Bam. Bam. Bam! AND These are by far the noisiest shoes I've ever had. They croak like a box of frogs. Ill-fitting, uncomfortable, and noisy. I'm crushed. If all of this weren't bad enough, I did not try them on when I first got them. I assumed they'd fit like the Targhee's I've always loved. It wasn't until the old pair wore out that I slipped these new ones one and was stunned, and now it was too late to return them. I've tried wearing them four times in four months and only for about 15 minutes each time. They are way too painful. I have now donated them to the Goodwill and I will not buy another pair of Targhees--ever. However, I love my other Keen boots (for now), but instead of ordering new ones online, I will go try them on at a store next time. Happy Trails. ... show more

  • NGL Best Shoe I've Ever Had
Size: 10 Color: Canteen/Dark Olive
So comfortable. Size is dead on. This is my second pair. I do wear them pretty hard, not Rockies hard, but ADK/Berkshire/White Mtns hard & they will break down over time. But for how I wear them they are very durable as well.

  • PRO: Great comfort, water proof.
Size: 10 Wide Color: Shitake/Brindle
CON: Soles fall off after 75 miles or so. New models III or IV didn't fix issue or were lessor comfort due foot bed lack of padding, making boot feel cheap.

  • Amazing fit and very flexible.
Size: 10.5 Color: Black Olive/Yellow
I broke these in on my trip to the Grand Canyon. Miles and miles on these every day. My last boots required weeks of break-in so I was nervous about not being able to break these in properly but I found my concerns to be unnecessary. These fit amazing and were like tennis shoes. The grip on the bare rock is impressive. ... show more
