d ffg Well, the box is huge and really heavy. 2-person lift for sure (I used a hand truck alone). The key to successful assembly is to read that warning about NOT tightening all the bolts until all of the bolts are started. You can get to about 75%, then move to another. I read that, and I felt confident a few times and tightened only to be frustrated and have to loosen later. And it's a hex-wrench, so to loosen you need to hold the long end, which means you can't rotate it 360 so it's a pain in the butt sometimes. Just try to not twist it all the way in until that side is done. The other key to success is giving yourself lots of space, and not being frustrated or in a rush. The instructions reference "Leg B", but the legs are marked 1-4. Before you go nuts, look at the paper partlist - it's marked both. There is no rhyme or reason - C is 1, D is 2 (don't quote me on that, but it's something like that). It's weird. But there's enough info for you to deduce. Basically though, 2 legs are different from the others because they have holes for the cabinet. And they need to go on a particular side of the table that has an extra square piece of wood also for the cabinet. The rest is pretty logical. There are only 2 bolt sizes and matching washers, so it's not tough to figure out. The Hex wrench comes with it, you will need a screwdriver to put a few screws through some wood (that wood is soft, it's easy and quick). There's also a disclaimer to handle it with 2 people at all times. this is probably for liability. i did this by myself, I'm not a big guy. Took 2hrs counting opening, disposal, and assembly - with a couple steps backwards because i put the legs on the wrong side at first and overtightened a couple of times. So if you have a good run expect an hour assembly. It's not complicated nor a lot of steps or pieces, just have to be careful with the weight and consider not scratching things and dealing with all the padding. I thought there was going to be a lot of assembly, but i was surprised to find fewer pieces of hardware than came with my VESA mount. The cabinet/shef piece is PRE-ASSEMBLED! This was really cool. So much simpler, you just bolt it to the rest of the table with 6 bolts. It's really sturdy. It definitely feels like a real piece of furniture. Not pressboard or MDF or anything. It is a really soft/light wood though, there's just a lot of it so it adds up. It is definitely much darker than the picture. I actually only got it because I saw another reviewer say this. I almost passed it up because it looked too light. It's a dark walnut/espresso kind of deal. Perfect for me. The top is made of joined planks. My one complaint is that the stain didn't make it into every bit of the seam. It's not the worst. I'm not going to bother dealing with that now, maybe if it gets damaged and I restain it or something. it;s really really nice. i love the shelf. other units go up to like $250. Snagged this one for like $180, and it feels like a steal. A splurge, but a good one. It came very well packaged. Box was damaged in multiple areas including corners. But the cardboard is really thick, the ends are double-layered, and the corners are reinforced with more cardboard and even pieces of wood (probably more for weight distribution or reinforcement than protection, but they didn't skimp. Each piece is wrapped in thin foam wrap. And there are multiple 8" cubes of styrofoam to bolster things, as well as large flat sheets of styrofoam. it was actually so well packed that disposing of the packaging was kind of crazy. 1.5 kitchen trashbags filled with an environmental catastrophe, plus the cardboard, and then what the vacuum had to pick up. But yeah, your table should be safe. At any rate I am super satisfied with the final product. ... show more

This table came packaged very well. Of course like some furniture today this table is not made of real or very thick and bulky wood. It is still super stylish! The only negative is watch for any kinks. It took me roughly 2 hours to put it together myself along with the help of my 8 and 9 year old. The toughest part was putting the side shelves on, the screws furthest away was super challenging and took the most time. Instructions were super easy to follow. My wife had been dropping hints for awhile about this table. I finally took the plunge and ordered it as a surprise for her and we absolutely love it!! We went with different stools than the ones made for it, they're just too heavy and bulky! This table is gorgeous in person, and we have had guests gushing over it since Christmas. The height makes it great for games and crafts, and my wife uses it as a desk when she is studying and loves that she can take a break and stand at it and still do her work. We already had the matching chairs that go with this so when we got a bigger space, we decided to add the table. It matches perfect with the chairs and looks great in the kitchen. The added shelf is great for displaying cook books or pictures. I took a star off because the instructions to assemble were subpar. They didn't label the pieces of the table with stickers, and the nuts in bolts showed number in the instructions but letters in the package so it took extra effort to match the two up. There was also some splintering of the wood underneath, but fortunately it didn't impact the integrity of the table nor is it visible now that the table is assembled. ... show more

Not sure why you would use letters for parts in the instructions and then put numbers on the actual parts . Just a bit confusing. Came with some damage so will contact seller. I'm 75 and got this inside and together on my own. Not easy. Opened this on the porch and brought the pieces inside because this is heavy. couple of the bolts were the bolts to 'nowhere' Got it together in about an hour then notices the damage . Would hope the seller would at least pay for my furniture repair pens. Looks amazing and is very sturdy ... show more

I read the other reviews and anticipated the box wouldn’t come in the best shape but I didn’t imagine it would be basically completely ripped open in multiple spots. There were two dents in the wood but it was underneath so I decided to put it together and see if it was visible. The wood seemed solid however split in two spaces when putting in the shelves. The instructions were only pictures with labeled coinciding letters... the letters and pictures didn’t match up. Not only that they listed the picture of the hardware A-Z and they left out the letter Q, and you know low and behold one of the pictures called for a washer labeled Q... AKA the set was missing the Q. Honestly if your master ninja furniture builder that doesn’t require instructions you may get by with the table. If your an average joe furniture builder, usually able to follow IKEA instructions ok then this is NOT the table for you. I have to face the shelf away from the viewers eye because it looks totally off on one side. Table seems somewhat sturdy but I highly doubt it it. ... show more
