Severely damaged on arrival (see photos)

This TV stand arrived with severe shipping damage (see photos). The particle board was cracked and pieces were broken off at the joints/edges, and the magnet block had come loose. Because of the damage, it cannot be assembled. The item is large and extremely heavy, so handling a return is a major hassle. I would not recommend.

Nice and extra long cabinet
Needed a tv stand for my 77" TV. This one is perfect. Still had space remaining in the left and right after placing the TV (where we have put vases). Lovely!

Top is peeling

The console is beautiful. However, why is there places peeling? Is this just a product that’s glued on? I just hope it doesn’t peel all over. It wasn’t cheap. Did anyone else have this problem? Hopefully it’s not a knock off. I expected this with no flaws. What can I do?

XL TV Stand at a fair price
XL TV stand for 98” TV’s at a fair price. You get what you pay for. For this price it’s well worth it. You’re not getting solid wood for 700 bucks. Let’s be real. The design pattern is nice. Cork-ish I’d say. First one came damaged with one of the cabinet doors tearing off a hinge (they come pre-hung. Actually packaged extremely well and a lot of it is put together already which is great). Also the art/decal/design whatever it is that they have over the mdf/wood on the front must damage very easily because if you see the packaging on this, you’d wonder how anything could be damaged. It’s packed so well. You can see in the close up pictures what I mean about the scraping. I contacted Ashley Furniture as the instructions tell you to for damaged/missing parts. Don’t waste your time. After the usual holds and blah blah my answer was I had to go through Amazon. Amazon was great and didn’t have me submit photos or anything. They sent me a replacement and scheduled the pickup of the damaged one for a week after delivery of the new one. Didn’t charge me twice or anything. Great customer service. Would’ve given 5 stars if not for the obvious cheap coating and questionable Ashley Furniture customer service. Amazon should also change their instructions away from contacting Ashley Furniture for issues.
