  • Buy the razor gen 2 over tango. Or If you need small light Night Force
Style: 5.56/7.62 Horseshoe Dot Reticle
I didnt get mine through amazon but from a better priced company. For those of you who buy gun equipment more then 2x a month try out one of those sites that charge 10 a month to be part of but u will save alot after your first big priced optic you think 1300 is alot try buying the Vcog 1x6 when I bought it the total was 2400. Or Night Force my 1x8 Nx8 is very similar to this item and it was 1700 but I got mine for 1500. The more expensive one that elite socom units buy are 2600. Let me explain to you guys why this optic us so much money. Number 1 craftsman if you wa t a 300 to 500 dollar lvpo get Primary Arms or Vortex there made in China which isn't always a. Af thing there more then capable of making good things they are just known to make cheap stuff. My Vortex Strike Eagle has better overall color and eye Relief then the Night Force. But what your paying for is the name the ruggedness the size lastly Anwrican designed assembled in Japan..Sound crazy many if the best brands out there are the same and btw have military contracts trijicon is one of them. Sure the expensive vcog and acog ate made in the USA but your paying for 3 things that are very important. Technology that is cutting edge at the time notice that nothing they make now is so their prices can drop almost 1000. 2 You are paying for American working hours and the guarantee that it will be taken back if broke and they do come broken sometimes. 3rd your paying for the name. They know this that's why the military members get huge discounts. Those who arent get riled off. Now the Tango 4 had issues and was well over priced. So why did they pick this particular lvpo. Unlike it's military counterparts it's second focal plane which isn't really ideal but it can help make those really long shots with an M4 Carbine. Is it really even made in Germany who knows possibly it certaiy cost as much as a german handgun. Let's go over it's pros semi light weight compared to many in it's area. Slightly shorter as well. The mount is great but I dont think it even comes with one. They bolts which if u have a small ket u can lock it on tight. I wish they would have made thumb screws that are lighter and smaller. The coating was made for dessert environments for proof water proof scratch proof dust proof to an extent just like everything else. Was it better then my OPmod Vortex Strike Eagle 1x6....not 4 times better I can tell you that it's slightly lighter and shorter which ok I'll give them that and maybe it's a bit more durable but to this day I havent found a 1x6 as good as the strike Eagle terms of price and overall value. Infact I look at my Night Force and in head it's short and light but I wish it had better eye Relief. I dont know why they couldnt have made it a bit thicker. With that being said listen if you have 1300 to spend and you want the best 1x6 lvpo out there tbe Vortex Razor gen 2 is absolutely king. it's pricey but they have reasons why. Like clarity the tunnel looms like a razor thin edge. Life time warranty just as good as the gen 3 razor that is 1x10 you might see a bit farther but it's really very similar u have bo idea how much the army is spending in each one of these we know that it's in the 10 million dollar range and I'm guessing with that price each one may come out to cost 200 to 300 dollars. Per unit. This is a good thing because that means there will be many of these for along time. They expect these to last as long as acogs. Also this means thousands of soldiers will learn to operate with the second focal plane. Which makes you adjust the elevation more then if you were using ffp. My guess is for GI give them something easier to use. With ffp you still need to understand your object is larger away even though your dot grew over him so you must adjust accordingly. Or u can rely on the bukket drop compensation lines and feet hash Mark's which might be easier. Most of the time these guys are on 1.5 or 3x in battle with that being said I would still choose ffp. So my opinion is this. To issue something made in the us with the same standards as our elite class would cost them way too much for that many Night Forces or vcogs. Plus gates the thing eotech has a product line called credo made in Japan so the price is exactly the same. So why go with Sig? Answer factory space and overall cost to us uts the same but probably to the military there getting them at a much cheaper price then theres size it's a bit smaller and in sure lighter but it's strange because yes we love their side arms but their optics were never considered top tier. I did purchase a Romeo x5dr green triangle predator and to me it's better then tbe eotech and cheaper and lighter and has motag and tbe battery is triple A. So possible sig sauer is going to start winning in the optics world sad because American products should be what we always try to use. I was upset to find out that the scar will be the new gun because it can use various barrels for many 30 caliber rounds and that's what they want. I'm not sure why any sniper would say to himself I think I need a 338 right now the 308 isn't good enough which there replacing with the 6. 5 Grendle. Not enough to carry all different rounds and magazines. The 338 magnum can do things a 50 cal can do so it should just be thjse 3 rounds 6.5 grendel 338 mag and a 50. For any shot within 100 yards 6.5 if it's behind a wall 50 cal. The 338 can be stretched for way long shots. Then the 556 that's the only tjfke rounds they need 4. And they only need 2 scopes 1 lvpo the Sig and the just signed with leupold so a 5x25 is fine that really is all they need in the optics world. The Sig fde isn't really even goingvto match any of the equipment they might have due to the fact it's bronze. Copper. My opinion skip it. Get the vortex ant strike eagke viper razor all of them are fantastic. If u ask me they lead the works in lvpo yes there are more is brands but I'm positive the razor beats the tango. ... show more
