  • Still learning, good game!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
I really like the gameplay of this version. PS5 continues to update. While I get better with understanding the changes. Took me some time to grasp hold of the style and layout. I'm hooked after previously being addicted to Civilization 6 on PS4!

  • Excellent game

LOVE this game. Excellent game play, understandable story. And, unlike other Civ generations, you can actually win this one. Takes about 16 hours instead of 16 weeks.

  • Wait two years for the game to have better updates to make it more like civilization 6
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
If this game wasn’t called civilization 7 it could be a pretty good game. Call it something else and I’ll give it a better rating. But I’m comparing this to every other civilization game I played and I started with civilization 1 back in the early 90s. So this game completely goes full sideways to some random direction that changes more than 50% of the game to be a completely different game. It was a birthday present that turned into a horrible experience. They didn’t like it and I didn’t like it. It was completely trash. I’m gonna wait two years and I’m gonna get civilization 7 for a PC that’s fully modded that I can make it like civilization 6 again. I absolutely hate this game I can’t even begin to describe with enough words how this game got almost everything wrong. There were a couple cool improvements, but they are vastly overshadowed by everything else and don’t get me started on the ages. Or the fact that there’s no builders so I’m forced to build out in the way the game tells me to. And there’s all these little side quests that I’ve never asked for that I’m required to do at gunpoint basically. I’d rather go back playing civilization 1 than civilization 7. ... show more

  • Civilization 7 – A Final Exam in Misery
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
Well, well, well, Civilization 7. Where do I even start? This isn’t a strategy game—it’s a government-issued psychological endurance test. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like you’re taking a college final you didn’t study for, congratulations, you’ve found your game. First off, it’s complicated to the point of nonsense. Want your merchants to actually do merchant things? Too bad. They’ll sit there collecting dust because, according to the game, every viable trade route is too far away. So your only options? Put them to sleep or kill them off like livestock. Real efficient. Then there’s the army commander, a title that sounds impressive until you realize he can’t actually fight inside city walls. No, sir. You have to kick him out like an unwanted guest just to let him get massacred in the open field. Tactical genius right there. And let’s talk about repairs. You know, basic city maintenance? In Civ 7, good luck figuring that out without watching an hour-long tutorial made by some guy who plays on PC, while you’re stuck with a PS5 version that doesn’t even have the same buttons. You’d have better luck fixing real-life potholes than repairing tiles in this game. This is not a game for casual players. This is for people who wake up in the morning and solve advanced physics equations for fun. Every single move feels like chess, but with 9 different boards stacked on top of each other and no instructions on how to play. You want to place a district? Hope you brought a degree in urban planning. And before you think, “Oh, I’ve played Civ before, I can handle it.” No. No, you can’t. This is not like any other Civ game. It just wears the same skin suit while it tortures you. If you love stress, frustration, and feeling like you’re always five steps behind, this is your game. Otherwise, save yourself the headache. Civ 7 is about as fun as waiting for an IRS audit—except the IRS actually explains what’s happening. Final Verdict: 1/10 – The only thing I conquered was my will to keep playing. ... show more
