My oldest and her husband had their first child this past Saturday. They didn't have one of these camera systems for their SUV and they had hinted a couple of times they weren't happy just using a mirror system. Now my wife and I raised her and her two siblings using nothing so I don't know the raging desire to see your child every second but I wanted them to feel safe being able to see their little boy while traveling. For the cost and the features, this unit is a good choice. I helped her husband get it into their SUV the evening before my daughter went into labor. Great timing. It only took us about an hour to get it all mounted and the cabling ran properly so it is not visible. So far, she has said it works great and the colors look really good. My youngest daughter has a different brand and after a couple of weeks, the monitor started getting lines in it and eventually just went black and white and looked very weird so I had to replace that one. The cable to stretch this from your back seat to your plug in is very long so you have plenty of court to maneuver if needed. It was a bit much for us. The day time color shuts off pretty early and easily and goes to night time black and white which is shown here but we really didn't mind. It works perfect for us. We weren't looking for super fancy and the quality is okay for us as well! Not real blurry or anything and never skips or glitches out. We've been using this for months now. We have noticed the camera part itself does get really hot just sitting there and stays that way so hoping that doesn't effect anything over time. This camera brings me so much comfort when driving. A simple glance at the camera to know my baby is okay. SO much better than a car mirror that easily gets moved and hard to see clearly. Very easy to install, easily hid the wiring in the car. I wish it was USB but it's okay that it's not. I also wish you could add a second camera to it. We’ve purchased this camera twice because the first one broke. It’s tricky to mount to the car and doesn’t sit without flying all over, however, it’s a really good quality camera. The picture is clear and it gets to job done. Pay attention to it though because we used it for a few long drives and it got really hot (the little camera facing our child). I was able to put in the middle of my backseat and was able to see 2 car seats at once, even though I know they have a 2 seat camera option out there. This was super easy to set up in the car and i absolutely love it. I can see my baby super clear unless the sun is shinning through but that’s to be expected and I can see her so well at night unlike the mirrors.
