  • You'll have LOTS of workspace with this one!
Size: 36-Inch Color: Black
I ordered this standing desk converter to use on my new desk with a walking pad so I wasn't sitting all day. I chose this one specifically because it offered the biggest working space and was one big, flat surface - whereas most have a keyboard cutout or are multiple levels. It was easy to assemble and set up. I had it on my desk within a short time of it being delivered. At first I was going to leave the monitor riser off, but decided after the fact to go ahead and use it. It was very easy to install - I didn't even need to take my desktop apart again. We eventually moved to a different home and the ceiling is lower where my desk is in the new house, so using the walking pad doesn't work anymore. Also, my desk is in front of a window, so having the monitor right in front of me doesn't work either. What to do with my standing desk? I decided to try it with my sewing machine... and it works great! I can stand and sew for something a little different. I may end up taking the monitor riser off of it again so it doesn't block fabric coming out of the back of the sewing machine. One thing to note... Once you pull out on the levers to lower it, it can lower pretty fast, so you'll need to get a good hold on it before pulling on them. And, when you're putting it up, you may need to give the table a bit of a boost to get it started. Both require a little strength on your part. Also, the seller may want to edit the product information... there are conflicting weight limits for it (which is... 20 or 30 pound limit?). Overall, I would definitely recommend this standing desk converter. ... show more

  • Satisfied
Size: 36-Inch Color: Black
I was a little skeptical that I would receive a decent product that would be useful for my needs when I made this purchase based on some reviews, but I decided to try it anyway. I am a nurse with a progressively degenerative lumbar spinal cord injury sustained from a slip and fall accident at work in the hospital in 2018. I recently found a job working from home where I don’t have to lift patients or push beds; however, my pain has still been worsening, so I wanted to convert my home office desk into a proper standing desk so I can alternately sit and stand to work more comfortably. I purchased this desk converter as a precursor to my future plans to invest in a true standing desk. I figured this would be an affordable way of experimenting to see if standing most of the work day would help my back pain. The price was more affordable than other choices but the reviews I read suggested that it was difficult to lower which I feared would not work for me with my back injury. However, I decided to give it a try despite the negative reviews. My son lifted the box upstairs to my office for me since it is quite heavy. I received my order in a timely manner and it arrived intact with all the parts needed for assembly. I was able to assemble the necessary parts from the video seen in the product description within 20 minutes. The only issue I had was that I turned the basket around backwards and didn’t realize it until an item fell out the back. ☺️ My son lifted it to my desk for me once it was assembled and assisted me by placing my monitor and laptop on the platform. The black converter that I ordered has a nice aesthetic and it has a smooth finish on both sides! I chose this model because of the large surface area where I can put my keyboard and mouse and still have room for my notebook and my coffee cup or water bottle. It is very sturdy even when I am writing and to my delight it is easy to lift and lower even with my back pain and subsequent weakness. Of course, I’ve only used it for 1 day, so I will have to update this review in a few months to state how durable the parts are. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase thus far and am hopeful that it will help me manage my pain while allowing me to be fully engaged in the workforce! ☺️ ... show more

  • Almost Perfect
Size: 36-Inch Color: Black
Purchased in July '23. Arrived on time and without any damage. Been using this for 2 months. This unit has worked out perfectly for me. Due to a physical issue with my hamstring tendons I cannot sit for the long hours my home-based hobby job requires. So I needed a means to convert my conventional corner desk to a standing desk. This is the perfect solution. Quick and easy to assemble the shelf and basket. It was easy to lift it into place on my desktop by myself without significant effort. I was easily able to fit two 21"x13.5" monitors on the shelf. (Any bigger than that may be difficult to fit, depending on the size and shape of the monitor stand base.) There is plenty of room for my ergonomic wireless keyboard and mouse, with two mouse pads, on the large main top surface, to the right of the keyboard - 90% of my work involves the mouse so I needed plenty of room for it and the pads. The main surface is deep enough (front to back) to allow me to rest my mouse hand forearm on the desktop. I'm 6' tall. I've raised the desktop to a point maybe an inch short of it's maximum height to achieve the best ergonomic position for my hands/arms. That height also allows me to raise/lower the monitors to the perfect ergonomic eye level height. The unit is sturdily built, solid and secure. Very little if any wiggle when typing or mousing. The levers that release/lock the raising/lowering mechanism function as intended and seem strong and secure. Some physical effort is required to initiate the lift after releasing the locking mechanism - it doesn't just spring up. Once it's in motion up or down it's smooth and easily controlled, until the levers are released and the locking mechanism is engaged again. I do 90% of my computer time in the standing position so I don't have to raise and lower the unit frequently - I just leave it in the raised position. In my case, the only negative aspect relates to the front-to-back depth of the unit. It's a relatively minor issue, but does account for my 4-Star Ergonomic and Overall rating. I'd like about 3-6 more inches of front-to-back depth for the desktop and riser, or just the riser. This would allow me to push the monitors back/away a little further and thereby optimizing the ergonomic distance between the screens and my eyes. I feel like I'm a little close. Adding a keyboard/mouse tray that slides out from underneath might provide a few more inches of front-to-back depth for a more ideal eye-to-screen distance, but one would lose the ability to support your forearms on the desktop surface. And in my case there would need to be plenty of room along the right side of a tray for lots of mouse movement. Nonetheless I am very happy with this unit, and recommend it strongly. ... show more
