Repainted my old, worn out shutters myself, ordered these new fasteners to rehang them. They worked perfect, we right back into original holes with a couple taps of the hammer. I would recommend not painting the heads until AFTER you have them in place. Just spray paint or brush the top to match the rest of the shutter if this is your project. I painted them before hand and the hammer knocked the paint off so I had to go back over them. Recommend these for any DIY shutter project! ... show more

I painted my existing white shutters with rustoleum matte black spray paint and used these to secure them back in place. The color matched perfectly and luckily for me there was an extra fastener in the package as one of them bent and broke as I was trying to push it in. I think I got lucky with the extra one included so be careful when installing these as they do have a tendency to bend during installation. ... show more

Worked perfectly. The local box stores did not stock them in the length that I needed. A storm had pulled one of the shutters off our house. I added some silicone caulking to the hole in the brick and it was a simple install.

    • Cheap before shipping
Shipping charges insane, pay on each bag, but still cheaper than lumber yard. The plugs worked great, I painted the heads to match the shutters, all they had was brown. Spray painting worked great, put down two 2/4s and droped them in the crack, two coats. Happy overall.

    • This makes hanging shutters a snap!
These plastic/polymer shutter fasteners made re-hanging my shutters unbelievably easy. With a simple (properly sized) pilot hole through the shutter and siding, you slide these fasteners through the shutter and into the vinyl siding, until the shutters are snug and secure against the vinyl siding. These fasteners have been securely holding my shutters on my house for several years running, and have stood up to serious wind storms and every other weather event they've encountered. ... show more
