Description

Everything you need to start playing straight out of the box! Bundle includes Shure SM57-LC Instrument/Vocal Microphone, Gearlux Boom Stand, XLR Cable, Windscreen, and Austin Bazaar Polishing Cloth. Few microphones have the reputation for quality and durability that the SM57 has built up since it first hit the market in 1965. Since then, this product has been an industry benchmark to which all other studio microphones have been compared. It can be seen anywhere, from small clubs to sports stadiums, and has been used in the studio by many of the world's greatest musicians. The SM57 is one of the most versatile microphones on the market. This dynamic product can handle the highest sound pressure levels without distortion, making it the perfect choice for recording high-volume instruments like drums. Many hit recordings feature the SM57 on the snare, as it can handle the noise without distortion. This product is also perfect for use with high-volume amplifiers. The SM57 can even handle close up recording on half-stack amps that are painfully loud for human ears. This microphone will help you to bring the feel of a live performance to your recordings for a better representation of your music. While this microphone is notorious for being used in the studio to record the sounds of percussion, wind, and string instruments, it also provides high quality vocal recording. Whether you are using it for spoken word or vocals, the SM57 will deliver a flawless sound while eliminating background noises. Because of its reliability, sound isolation, and quality sound reproduction, the SM57 has been used at the podium for Presidential speeches for the past 40 years.

  • Awesome Deal! Mic clip WAS included in mine.
I don’t have much to add to the product reviews. The Shure SM57 is an icon, well known and loved, and the one I received did not disappoint. I already have a few hours recording with it, and I love it! The stand is sturdy and seems reasonably well made. It’s perfect for my needs of micing guitar amps and vocals in the studio. It does what it’s supposed to do, and given the overall build quality I think it should hold up very nicely over the years. The cable is nice. Hefty with sturdy connectors. I am hooking up the mic to a computer with a 10’ XLR to USB adapter cable, but I was able to hook this cable between the adapter and the mic as an extension, and it worked just fine. Now, to the other accessories. It seems some people who have purchased this package on Amazon have had some issues with the windscreen being too large or a mic clip not being included in the package (to be fair, none is pictured). I don’t know if this depends on what seller you get it from or what, but I can tell you that my purchase was from Austin Bazaar, and the windscreen I received fits just fine, and the mic clip was included. In fact, the clip is packaged with the microphone, along with a nice little zippered carrying case. Both of these items are pictured on the microphone package as ‘included in the box’ from Shure. I don’t know why some people are getting the clip and some are not. Perhaps Shure packages the SM57 in two different ways, and it just depends which one gets thrown in your shipment? Either way, it’s a great deal. If you need a mic, and you could use a mic stand (or an extra one) go for it! This package deal is only slightly more than the mic all by itself. ... show more

  • Adding Shure A85F Line Matching Transformer makes it great for acoustic recording.
Not much to say other than it's awesome for recording electric guitar coming out of an amp. Adding the Shure A85F Line Matching Transformer also makes it great for acoustic recording.

  • Wow! Glad I purchased this mic!
I own a Audio-Technica AT2035 and a Shure PG42. Both are condenser mics. This is the cheapest microphone out of all of them but I have to say I might just like it the best. They say this mic is meant for instruments but I beg to differ. I am a baritone and I find that it captures the richness of my voice better than the other two. It has a more mid range emphasis whereas the other 2 capture the brightness of my voice better.. I actually like the SM57 better for my voice than for my acoustic guitar. For $100, you really can't beat this mic. I would recommend it especially to any beginners out there who want an inexpensive but great quality mic. ... show more

  • Authentic and does not disappoint! Nice bonus to have the stand and mic ...
Can't go wrong with an SM-57! Authentic and does not disappoint! Nice bonus to have the stand and mic cord as well. Stand is solid and very durable. Does the trick. Not heavy duty and sure there are better quality stands, but this one is adequate for my needs.

  • Microphone is excellent, stand is terrible, cable is fine.
The Shure SM57 is great. Well renowned for instrument and vocals. A good all-around microphone. I've used Shure SM microphones for decades. The stand this comes with is pretty terrible. Flimsy and poorly fit. The lock nuts for the attachment points are plastic and threaded incorrectly. The microphone clips are pretty cheap. The spring loaded universal one was broken in the box. Luckily, the Shure comes with a high quality clip of it's own. The stand has a small attachment thread, but the clips come with threaded inserts that will go into the standard size clips. But again, the inserts have the same cheap, poorly threaded plastic as the lock nuts. That said, the microphone usually goes for $99, and for $117 I got the mic, a stand, and a decent XLR cable. I would expect the cable to go for $10-$20, so it is like getting the stand for free. 5 stars for the microphone, -1 star for the poor stand. ... show more

  • Good deal
First off, I'll say I got my bundle from Austin Bazaar. The SM57 is the go-to mic for guitars and snare drums. For guitar amps, you can't get a bad sound from it. It did come with a mic clip in the Shure box and a carrying pouch. The bundled xlr cable was 20 feet long, Stagg brand. Decent but longer than I needed. The mic stand seemed really high quality, heavy duty and big enough to reach from ankle height to over 6 feet in the air. Stagg brand. For that reason, I'd recommend this seller over the others. The rest of the stuff in the package, I didn't need or use. Maybe someday. ... show more

  • Instrument Mic is 100% solid
TERRIFIC mic, I've had it a while now and recordings are much clearer and studio quality. This was my first Shure Mic, and I followed it up with the SM58. I like the stand that came with this one, maybe not a hardcore one (it's not that heavy) but works great for a stand in the studio. I can't speak to live performances yet. ... show more

  • Great Mic, Cheap Mic Stand
The SM-57 is great, as expected, and the mic cord is great, but the mic stand is all plastic and very light weight. It will quickly break-down if you are moving from gig to gig. Watch-out for the all-plastic mic holder; it stripped the first time I tried to mount it. I replaced that with a quality one (threaded metal insert). ... show more
