I got these to wear while playing drums. I can plug into my laptop and hear tracks and practice sessions to play with. They come with a bunch of earpiece replacements... I ended up switching the pre-installed "medium" ones to small ones, which fit much better. The only concern is the cord is a little too short and bugs me, so I'm getting an "extension cord" for it. The sound quality is great... not as good as my Sony headset, but good enough for my purposes and it saves my hearing at the same time. I am very pleased with these and will recommend! ... show more

Thrilled with these headphones. I have been disappointed by many earbud/headphones in the recent past. So this time I decided to stick with a recognized brand and to pay a bunch more. So glad I did. These are the best sounding earbuds I've ever owned. Deep full accurate bass, and separation from higher frequencies gave a clear and enjoyable musical experience. I won't ever buy the Chinesium crap brands searching for a bargain again! Also loved the snug fit and multiple style tips provided along with a great little carry case with small plastic caribiner attached - thoughtful, useful, and an unexpected awesome surprise! ... show more

    • Don't know how Iived without them.
I play drums in a praise and worship band every Sunday in a huge church. Us, in the band, use a popular ethernet connected personal monitoring system so we can create our own monitor mix. I am in an isolation booth, and was using some really good isolating head phones but drums are much louder in the isolation box so the headphones could only block so much. Some of the other guys suggested some iems. I looked at several ranging from lower priced all the way up to the above $400 club. I am still using Shure gear from decades ago so I decided to try these. These don't completely isolate inside the drum box ( I doubt any would) but what a difference! It allowed me to turn everything down, and I no longer have to crank the click track. I can hear nuances that were drowned out before so I can perform more musical drum parts in songs we do our own renditions of. And I can hear our extra percussion groves and play more in the pocket. I use them to listen to our ref songs before practice and can hear details that were smudged or nonexistent in my regular ear buds before. I should have bought these years ago. I feel like they are worth every penny. The only other complaint I have, is I wish they came with a better case. The case is kind of flat. I'd feel better about it if it was a bit more shell shaped and rigid. I hope they last like all my other Shure gear, but at this price if I get 5 or 10 years out of them I will feel I got money's worth and likely buy another pair. ... show more

Great product but buyer beware - I bought this same product a couple years ago and the cable was noticeably longer. The length of this cable is so short that I’m concerned it might come unplugged from my phone if it’s in my pocket - It barely reaches. Same great product from Shure but terrible oversight on this one detail. Update: I spoke to a rep at Shure and they said the black and clear have a 64” cable and the other colors have a 46” cable - Just fyi ... show more

    • Amazing IEMs if you want to block out distractions or use power tools.
I originally bought the SE215s 4 years ago because I needed a way to study at work and not be distracted by people talking. Unfortunately I lost my original buds a few months ago and have been researching a cheaper alternative to the SE215s to wear while woodworking so I don't blow out my ears using power tools. My search lead me to two IEMs: The Mee Audio M6 Pro and the Tin Audio t2. Both IEMs were easy to listen to, no major turn offs in the sound reproduction area, but my problem with them was the noise isolation. They were just nowhere near the isolation of the SE215, and the other IEMs I found were close to the price of the SE215. So I decided to just cough up the extra money and go with the SHURE thing and I won't regret it. The IEMs themselves reproduce the music beautifully. I would say is fairly neutral but has more of a warm tonality. The highs are not sibilant, which is a major problem I have with a lot of IEMs, and I can easily wear these for hours without feeling fatigued. ... show more

    • Sound great but I REALLY wish I’d bought something else instead
First off, the product is exactly what it says it is, and when it comes to my complaints, they are (a) about personal design preference rather than quality and (b) things I would have realized if I’d researched / thought more before buying. So, yeah, they sound great. Noise cancellation is very good. They’re Shure’s and they’re solid in terms of performance. I do NOT like the over-ear design now that I’ve used them. I mostly wear them in bed while watching my tablet. I thought the over-ear hooks would be good for this, but I don’t like it. Just something I have to work to get right while lying in bed, and since they are hooks, when they get tangled, it’s more of a hassle to separate them. Yeah, I know I could’ve gotten wireless, but I don’t like having to remember to keep them charged. Worse, and this is my MAIN problem with these earbuds . . . They are shaped to be ear-specific. Right bud must go in the right ear. You know . . . . You’re in bed and your spouse is already asleep and the lights are off . . . when I want to watch/listen to something, I just want to grab my ear buds from the night stand and stick them in my ears. Can’t do that with these. Somehow, in the dark, I NEVER choose correctly on the first try; I always try to put the left one in my right ear first. When I was reading reviews for these ear buds, that never occurred to me, but now that I’ve been using them for months, it irritates me. With my old Harmons, I could just plug either one into either ear and go. So. You already read the heading. Wish I’d bought something else. These sound fine, but they’re not for me. ... show more
