Not Leather, a fragile material. I was not at all happy with the quality of this item. I was truly disappointed when I opened the box. I didn't bother putting them together. I am not sending them back because shipping them back would cost me $170. The seller is not providing free shipping. I did not realize when ordering that this seller is a 3rd party seller, not sold by Amazon. I submitted an A to Z complaint, but Amazon could not help with a free shipping label; I would have to first ship the item back to the seller, and then Amazon would (possibly) refund me the shipping cost.
