    • Okay but not ideal for a kick drum.
It works okay. Construction is a bit cheap. For a kick drum, it’s not ideal because the knob that tightens the telescoping part is pretty tall, so it has to be oriented so it’s out of the way of the XLR cable, which adds size to the profile of the mic that has to fit through the hole. Also, it’s a bit tall for a kick drum, so the hole has to be quite high. It’s not bad for the price but it may be worth spending an extra $10. ... show more

    • Solid Budget stand
Griffin is pretty good at packing what you need into a nice package. This stand is a good medium sized thing, has good extension, and is really light. It doesn't hold perfectly, you can get the boom arm to slip pretty easily if you have a heavy mic fully extended. Apart from that it's a reasonably sturdy stand. It's a budget stand, it makes sense, still worthy of the 5 star rating despite drawbacks. ... show more

    • Microphone head doesn't stay in place
The stand is great, but the microphone head can't be tightened enough to guarantee it'll stay in place. It's a decent product for the money, but I'd recommend spending a little more and getting a step up.

This small lite weight stand is compact, shorter base, telescoping extended boom adjust to standard size mic stand, fits in my travel case, great for air travel.
