Griffin is pretty good at packing what you need into a nice package. This stand is a good medium sized thing, has good extension, and is really light. It doesn't hold perfectly, you can get the boom arm to slip pretty easily if you have a heavy mic fully extended. Apart from that it's a reasonably sturdy stand. It's a budget stand, it makes sense, still worthy of the 5 star rating despite drawbacks.

It works okay. Construction is a bit cheap. For a kick drum, it’s not ideal because the knob that tightens the telescoping part is pretty tall, so it has to be oriented so it’s out of the way of the XLR cable, which adds size to the profile of the mic that has to fit through the hole. Also, it’s a bit tall for a kick drum, so the hole has to be quite high. It’s not bad for the price but it may be worth spending an extra $10.

They seem good at first, but after not-much-use the plastic (and there is a lot) begins to weaken and wear out. They will need to be replaced within 3 months of use. Note to all of us: Always buy metal stands. Plastics sucks
