  • Easy assembly. good suction
Easy assembly. good suction. good quality so far. i think we will buy a second one soon. the plastic bags are still working but i also bought two cloth bags so i do not have to keep buying replacements and the cloth bag will allow more air to escape. i talked to a person and ordered the top bags which will also fit the bottom. ... show more

  • Maybe Okay should have been 5 Stars
Update: I have been using the collector for a few months now and although I was impressed by its power at first…well, that was short lived. It is fine for any of tools that are less then 20’ from the collector. For tools further away its performance is mediocre at best. I ended up rearranging the tools and putting several of them back on my old machine. It also looses a lot of performance if using a separator. If you buy it here, good luck getting help from Shop Fox…they just tell you to contact Amazon. So after several months (5ish) of use, I do not recommend this machine. Can’t wait until I can afford to get a real collection machine. The machine seems to work very well. I have it set up in a (estimated) 1000 sq ft shop supplying dust collection to at 8 tools and the airflow is excellent at the furthest point. One of the tools is a CNC which runs while I am also working at another station, and it has no problem keeping up. Even though it is loud, it is not as loud as the 1 HP collected it is replacing. So on those points you would think I would have given it 5 stars….. but… it arrived with some minor damage which clearly occurred during packaging. How do I know? The area that was damaged was located in the center of the box which was very well protected. Had this damaged occurred during transport there would have been other damage as well. Because the damage was in the corner of one of the air intakes I was concerned it would not work properly. Amazon was no help (even though they did try), and my only option was to return the entire thing. I had already unboxed everything and organized it for assembly. This thing is heavy and I wasn’t about to try to rebox it. So I called the manufacturer (who handles the warranty) and nothing but a run around. After being on hold for at least 30 minutes waiting for an answer I said screw it, if it doesn’t work they can come pick it up assembled. I repaired the damaged best I could and put it together, and it seems to work well. So where as I do recommend the machine, there are others that are just as good if not better, and they do know what customer service actually means. So I suggest you keep looking. ... show more

  • Assembly instructions are thorough and machine is extremely quiet
Despite some other reviews I set this up in about 30 minutes and was horrified with the amount of suction, not for a weekend warrior or hobbyist, this is a real machine. I have multiple dust collectors and this is by far the best bang for the buck considering how quiet for the amount of suction regardless of what your expectation is. Literally can't hear the dust collector if there's a shop vac nearby running. I use it for my 4 Shop Fox molders and another for 7 Shop Fox shapers without a single issue. ... show more

  • Does the job and more.
This is the first dust collector that I've ever purchased. It was definitely worth the $ for what it does. The seller called the day after purchasing to schedule a delivery date. The package came on a semi-truck and luckily we had a forklift to unload it--granted, two guys could've picked it up. As I started unboxing the machine, I was definitely let down. Several of the parts were severely scratched up, and the main intake had a large dent in it. Also, my dad was surprised that it was a 3hp motor because of the size. There are 10 HP motors out there that are equivalent to this footprint. Anyhow, I casually built it in about 1.5 hours. I ended up having to buy a breaker, wires, and a box to run 220 power to this beast. I knew that going in though... It's clearly listed as a 220v machine. I also bought the cyclone thing to catch the large particles. So I have about 100 hours running this thing and it is still amazing. I've emptied over 55 gallons of dust from my cyclone and have yet to empty a single bag. I'm using this on a CNC router for surfacing oak/blackwalnut/elm. Also, as a note, I originally capped one of the intakes. I was only running one...so i figured that I needed to cap the other 3. The machine comes with 2 caps attached and I soon learned that it is best to leave the extra intake wide open. She's kind of loud, but it's not horrendous. I run it outside at night and the neighbors haven't complained yet, granted we have a moderate amount of land. ... show more

  • Don’t except damaged looking boxes !!!
Well I hope the machine works. The box was in poor shape when it was delivered, one of our tech’s signed for it. It should of not been excepted in that condition. The pic’s show many bent and damaged corners of the machine. Since we need this dust collector for production, we will fix all the problems in house. ... show more

  • shop around for better price
I have been using amazon for years and this is the first item that i found to be priced much higher than other vendors are selling it for. Now, I have received a low price of $520.00 delivered to my door, with most pricing in the $532.00 area. I called amazon to question the price and i ended up talking with someone off shore, i believe india. Give me a break. AMAZON, HIRE AMERICAN so we can clearly understand the conversation. Just ticks me off. anyway, i regress. I guess i learned a lesson today. While i blindly purchased from Amazon in the past, i won't be so foolish in the future. SHOP AROUND. In todays market, with dollars being tight, i just don't understand why amazon is so far out of line. ... show more

  • Great blower/dust collector!
I've been using this for about 4 months and I'm very happy with it. Noise level is very comparable to the smaller 2HP harbor freight it replaced, and it pulls at least double what their blower was rated. UPDATE: Over a year now and both of mine are still going great! Each has plenty of power for 3-4 machines. ... show more

  • Great Machine
Very powerful machine. A little noisy, but I'm sure not more than any other it's size. Easy to set up. Great deal w/ Amazon.
