  • Great value
Style: Floor
I've had this drill for about two weeks now. I bought the floor model. This is the first drill press I've personally owned so I don't have experience with other models to compare. But I am very pleased with this machine. Easy to assemble, it is heavy but I still managed to do it all by myself, though it would be wise to have a partner help out. Instructions recommend you mount the base to 3/4" plywood for stability. It has a pretty narrow base for how too heavy it is so the plywood is necessary if you're not bolting this into the floor. I use this drill primarily for woodworking and it's got plenty of power for my needs. The versatility and functionality of this drill is fantastic. Nice smooth pressing action, sturdy depth stop, feels like a well built machine. ... show more

  • at best 3 time a year
Style: Floor
As a professional woodworker I would say that this drill press is very cheaply made and would not work for a day to day need. That said, I will use this drill, at best 3 time a year, and for what I use it for.... it's perfect.

  • No owners manual. No instructions on assembly.
Style: Floor
I had this drill press together and apart 3 time before I got it everything in the right order and right place. An owners manual would have made it a lot easier on this 75 year old man. The top is very-very heavy. I had to remove it twice, An owners manual would still be nice for maintenance.

  • Great drill press
Style: Floor
I have had more expensive ones and this one works just as well. This brand is super quality and no missing parts which is hard to say when shipping weight is this much.

  • Overall good - but you get what you pay for
Style: Floor
It works as well as I expected. Assembly was a bit of a pain. The hardware they give you to mount it to the base is junk. Just throw it away and get some bolts that won't strip away all the threads. When I cranked it down the cheap cast iron base cracked and I had to weld the crack back together. UPDATE: After about 4 months of use, only occasionally, the motor seems to have burnt out (and I only use this on the low speed/high torque setting). It's completely gutless now and won't drill anything. ... show more

  • Good product, would have been better if it had not been damaged during shipping.
Style: Floor
Product was damaged when it arrived. The box had clearly been dropped and the top of the drill press needed to be bent back in shape. It worked just fine aside from that. Ensure you are able to download and print the instructions a they do not come with the drill press. The mobile base was tough to put together because the instructions were errant. They did not correctly state that the screws had to be put together backwards before putting them in correctly as the nylon had not been threaded. The support team assured me that they were updating instructions to correct the error. It has been awhile since I purchased this item. I would recommend it if you are looking for an inexpensive drill press that is versatile and not hard to operate, this is a good product for the money. ... show more

  • Just not very good
Style: Floor
A few complaints, and no stand out wins. 1. It’s just not very stiff. There’s a lot of flex, so you can’t rely on precise positioning with jigs or a good table. Things just wander in time. 2. The table is not square to the quill. Yes, of course the head rotates making square achievable on that axis. Unfortunately, the head of the drill press is tilted up a bit. Something you’d only notice on a wider forstner bit, but it doesn’t cut a circle right away. You get a crescent which becomes a circle as you cut deeper. It’s permanently out of square. 3. Not an uncommon problem, but the speed doesn’t go very low. They’re up front about that, so I can’t hold it much against them. I would just like to see a lower speed with a machine of this cost. Forstner bits tend to jam in the workpiece and slip the belt. ... show more
