I bought these because I needed a hands free device that would not cover or go in my ears as they are very sensitive. I originally ordered the standard ones and my head swam in them. Even the minis are a little large and my head fits into a 7 1/4 fitted had with a finger width of room. They connect super easily if I answer my phone before turning them on. They’re comfortable, durable and I can hear pretty well if it’s in a normal noise or quiet area. If it gets loud it’s harder to hear. If you put earplugs in it really boots the sound. The buttons are easy access and even with gloves on are simple to use. I can hear very clear when using and other people when answering can hear me even if I whisper so I would say clarity is pretty good for that. They’re great for work, home, sporting events, driving or working out.

I was a little skeptical about these at first, but after talking to others and reading reviews, I decided to get these. I have to say, I really love these things! I have no problem wearing them with my bike helmet on, and they feel like I'm not wearing anything on my ears. The sound quality is much better than I expected. They are not as good as the best in-ear buds, but they are good enough and the benefits far outweigh the cons. I used to only wear one ear bud, loosely in one ear so that I could be aware of my surroundings while riding. Now I can wear these as-is and hear everything around me while listening to music in stereo at regular the same time. Very cool. These are really a game changer for me! I've also tried these in my home office on Teams and Webex calls and they work great. I can seriously wear them all day with zero discomfort. Some cons: Some people say that they can become useless at high speeds with wind noise. I have not really experienced this problem even at 20-25mph. Maybe this could be a problem on a really windy day at these speeds. I suppose it could be a problem on a long decent as well at higher speeds, but really the climb is where I need some music to get through it sometimes. Another con is if you answer your cell phone while riding (you can do that by tapping the side button) you need to stop or slow down so that both sides can hear each other. And lastly, I wish the charge lasted longer. I can't really use them all day at work and then go on a long bike ride. I do realize though, that the bone conduction technology has to use more energy than standard earbuds to achieve the same volume, so I understand this and am okay with it. (Maybe I'll get another pair some day for my home office!) Other thoughts: My wife bought the OpenFit Open-Ear model after trying these out because she prefers the individual earbuds that do not go around the back of the head. Those are awesome too with possibly slightly better sound quality. But for me I prefer these because I find it much easier to put them on my head, especially because I don't have as much hair as she does. They kind of just fall into place, with no adjustments needed.

Great product. Very comfortable, I wear a size 7-1/4 hat and love the shorter band size. I can wear for multiple hours. One thing I did not anticipate was how often I want to lay in bed with headphones on. That is one area Shokz open ear design falls short on. The band is hard to manage and tries to push the speakers out of place. Sound. Loud enough, but if worn as designed....you can't get a real full, loud, immersed sound like over the ear or even ear buds. Connection. They connect very fast and intuitively. However if you have a slow data transfer rate on your phone( for me it was my home wifi when multiple devices are connected), they can momentarily glitch from time to time. At first I thought it was losing Bluetooth connection but it does not do it on cellular data unless I fully lose signal. Battery life is better than advertised. It appears they can run at near full output for the number of hours advertised. Much longer at lower volumes or just connected but not playing anything. Why would you do that? I guess because I don't have a smart watch and so if I am moving around, and don't want to miss a call, I just throw these on and connect. If a call comes in I just push the left button and connect. I love this product because I can stay in touch with the people and things around me, even if I am listening to something. Also, they feel so secure, you don't hesitate to move your head fast or do active things. Another perk, is that if you have to wear earplugs at work, you still can. It changes the pitch slightly, but the sound still comes through great, and the microphone noise cancelling makes it possible to have a phone conversation in pretty noisy places. I also like how easily they store in the case and that it is fairly compact. Complaint. These use a proprietary charge cord. While it seems very durable, now I have to remember the headphones and a specific cord. To make matters worse, the case doesn't have a pocket to store the cord....even though there is plenty of room. Solution. I cut a piece of double sided velcro the width of the case, applied glue to about 1" of the velcro and glued it inside the lid. Pretty much in the middle. Then form a loop and slip the cord into it. It is working great so I am less upset with the proprietary cord. Hopefully Shokz will include something to hold the cord in the case soon, but until then it seems easy to resolve.....see photo.
