Description

Do OpenFit use bone conduction technology？ No, they don’t. They are powered by DirectPitchTM technology, another technical method to open-ear listening. Shokz DirectPitchTM technology uses reverse sound waves to optimize the distance and angle between the sound source and the human ear. How to wear OpenFit? Take the earbuds out of the case, position them above your ears, and gently rotate them backward to allow the hook to naturally fit around your ears. Once both earbuds are in place, adjust them for comfort and a secure fit. Do you need to use OpenFit with an App? You can use OpenFit without an app. However, the Shokz App can help you customize your listening experiences. You can personalize your EQ modes, and button functions, access real-time power information, and update the firmware through the Shokz App. What is the average battery life of OpenFit? OpenFit provide up to 7 hours of listening on a single full charge. The charging case extends the earbuds to 28 hours of listening. The actual battery life depends on the volume, sound source, product features, use habits, and other factors. Are OpenFit water and sweat resistant? OpenFit earbuds are IP54 water-resistant. The earbuds are designed to be resistant against dust and drops of water but aren’t meant to be submerged under water. We don't recommend you wear them in heavy rain or wash them with running water. Starting from 2011, SHOKZ makes unique listening experience provided by bone conduction technology available to the general public. We’re disrupting the headphone industry with our innovative open-ear design and patented bone conduction technology. The result is a premium listening experience while your ears stay open to your surroundings for maximum situational awareness, safety, and connection. Our team is on a mission to enhance lives through our technology. We work to bring you comfort, performance and quality.

Super comfortable, features exactly as described
[EDIT AFTER 1 YEAR OF USING: Still using these, still love them! Have had no issues, no degradation of functionality! My original review still stands 100% even after a year of regular use.] I've waited to review until I'd had and used these a good bit to be able to give my honest review and after a month of use I can say that I love these and would absolutely recommend them and buy them again. I have never found a pair of ear buds that don't cause me extreme pain in my ears, neck, shoulders, and head. I've tried all manner of ear buds, from super cheap to really expensive, and these are the first set of ear buds that I can wear all day without any pain whatsoever. It took a little getting used to the way that they fit because they did sort of feel like they were on the verge of falling out when I first got them, but this is just due to a different design than I've ever experienced and they're actually quite secure and not going anywhere. I do find myself forgetting that I have them on and will walk around with nothing playing, wearing them for hours sometimes. Even as a glasses wearer, I don't find myself having any problems with comfort or secure fit. The sound quality is honestly the best I've experienced in all of the ear buds I've tried. I'm super impressed with the bass they're able to achieve, and it is sort of a "sound is in your head" kind of experience. I've used them for listening to music, watching YouTube, watching TV shows and movies, and have never felt that I needed to adjust the EQ. They really just sound great for all uses, in my opinion. I love the way that you put them into pairing mode - I did have to look up a YouTube video on how to do it because I struggled to understand the instructions provided, but it's actually really easy and reliable, and one of the easier pairing experiences I've had. I have a few pairs of headphones/ear buds that are a major pain to pair and fall out of being paired randomly, and I've had none of those issues with these. I haven't had any issues with the touch controls not working right, though I don't use these for running and it seems the majority of reviewers having issues with the touch controls are runners who experience sweat, so that could be why I've had no issues. I'm a stay at home mom who works part time from home and home schools my kid, so my typical use of these is while sitting at a computer working, or while walking around my home doing school or chores. They're not super noise canceling and they don't have the longest battery life but that is exactly as advertised. Being open ear fit they couldn't possibly be noise canceling (though they do actually drown out most sound pretty well if the volume is up high), which is actually what I need in ear buds as a stay at home mom who needs to be able to hear my kid at all times. I don't want to give these a low review on noise cancellation or battery life because they're clearly advertised as not being noise canceling, and also clearly advertised that the ear buds themselves only have a 7 hour battery life and the case has a 28 hour battery life, so it would seem unfair to lower their rating over something that you're advertised before even buying. Maybe in future models they'll be able to increase the battery life, but until then it is totally fine with me as someone who is home pretty much at all times and able to recharge without issue. I am super happy with these, and so pleased to have finally found ear buds I can wear without pain. After years of searching, I finally found a pair that works for me and actually sounds great, too. ... show more

5 Stars – Comfortable, Great Sound, and Perfect for All-Day Wear
I've been extremely impressed with the SHOKZ OpenFit earbuds. The open-ear design is incredibly comfortable, making them easy to wear for hours without the ear fatigue that comes with traditional earbuds. They stay securely in place thanks to the earhooks, even during walks and workouts. The sound quality is surprisingly rich and clear for an open-ear design, with crisp vocals and balanced audio. I also appreciate being able to hear my surroundings while listening to music or taking calls, which makes them a great choice for outdoor activities and commuting. Battery life has been excellent, and the fast charging feature is very convenient when I'm in a hurry. Bluetooth pairing was quick and reliable with both my phone and tablet, and the microphone delivers clear call quality. Overall, these earbuds combine comfort, convenience, and impressive performance in a lightweight package. If you're looking for wireless earbuds that you can wear all day while staying aware of your surroundings, the SHOKZ OpenFit is an outstanding choice. ... show more

Edited with use… and to *try* to be more concise. Firstly, it’s important to note that I am not an audiophile. The primary reason for purchasing these was to use them for WORK (WFH, need to be able to hear clients, have them hear me with no background noise, take meetings etc) with the secondary reason being casual listening at home while I’m scrolling my phone, cleaning, etc etc etc. So if you’re wanting to know whether or not these are Gods gift to audio, you’re on the wrong review! Fit: I’m starting here because it seems to be what everyone complained the most about in the reviews. HOWEVER, I think the fit is absolutely perfect, incredible - all the positive descriptive words. Each bud is as LIGHT as a feather. I needed to be able to make sure I could wear these for extended periods of time without experiencing discomfort… and I have! Since I received them I hardly take them off. I have tried sleeping in them and while discomfort wasn’t the issue, the touch controls were triggered by my pillow so it wasn’t functional for nighttime listening (sleep stories are a game changer). Otherwise, I work in them, I clean in them, I play games in them… everything. They stay in, they feel secure though most of the time I forget they’re even there. More than anything I’m so freaking glad they don’t go IN my ear canal. I have always avoided headphones because I hate the ear canal ones (gross) and the big bulky ones just are not it. App: The app you can control these with is perfect, and I’ll be including some screenshots in my review. First of all, HAVING an app I can use to manage them is amazing. I like that it’s easy to figure out and doesn’t throw an overwhelming amount of options or customizations at you. You can; - Monitor battery life for each individual bud AND the charging case (freaking love); - Adjust the audio to your liking (full EQ customization + preset options like vocal or bass boost); - Set up multipoint pairing. SO happy with this function, I can’t even explain. It took some figuring out though…more later; - And customize controls. This was probably my favorite feature, as I wasn’t a huge fan of the default options and I was able to change the controls to what works for ME! *My ONLY critique, and I cannot explain how insignificant this is in the grand scheme, is that I wish in the control customization that I had the option to switch which ear was volume up and which was volume down. IDK how to explain it other than my brain doesn’t process volume down being on the left side. Maybe throw it in the suggestion box for the next model, which I will definitely be buying regardless. Battery: It’s great. I put these puppies to use, for all the reasons mentioned above. They get me through my workday and an evening of listening to music before needing to charge. I say needing to charge, but even then they’re still around 20-25%. It feels like I get endless charges out of the case, and they charge quick. Audio: Again, not an audiophile. With that being said, I think they sound great. The EQ customization is awesome, I prefer to just go with one of the preset options. On that note, I’m glad they have the preset options and I think they’re great. I have been listening to my music on treble boost with no complaints. Love being able to quickly switch to the vocal option for work. Bass boost at the highest of volumes sounds a little tinny but otherwise they sound like normal headphones. Mic: So far, no complaints. I was very worried about my clients and colleagues being able to pick up on background noise because of my dogs, but I’ve asked several people on the other end if they could hear anything other than me and they all said no. Everyone has said they can only hear me, and I sound normal + clear. Multi-point pairing: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. This was actually a welcome surprise, I didn’t realize they had the feature until I received them. I’m not sure if I’ve captured the full potential here yet or not, but this is a really handy feature for how I personally use them. Being that I need to be able to pair them to both my personal phone and my work laptop, this makes it so seamless. I can easily connect or disconnect to one, the other, or both at the same time if I want. This allows me to toggle back and forth between work and personal activities so easily. It’s so good. TLDR; Get these! ... show more

Super Comfortable with Great Sound Quality

I've been using these since the first of December and I can say that I love these and would absolutely recommend them and buy them again. The reason I didn’t give them Five stars is because of no pre—warning that the battery is low. I have never found a pair of ear buds that don't cause me extreme pain in my ears, neck, and head. I do find myself forgetting that I have them on and will walk around with nothing playing, wearing them for hours sometimes and have even fallen asleep with them on. I haven't had any issues with the touch controls not working right, though I don't use these for running and it seems the majority of reviewers having issues with the touch controls are runners who experience sweat, so that could be why I've had no issues. I'm a retiree who works part time from home, so my typical use of these is while sitting at a computer working, or while walking around my home doing zoom, conference calls, business calls or chores. They're not super noise canceling and they don't have the longest battery life but that is exactly as advertised. Being open ear fit they couldn't possibly be noise canceling (though they do actually drown out most sound pretty well if the volume is up high), which is actually what I need in ear buds as a stay at home fur baby mom who need to hear my fur baby. I don't want to give these a low review on noise cancellation or battery life because they're clearly advertised as not being noise canceling, and also clearly advertised that the ear buds themselves only have a 7 hour battery life and the case has a 28 hour battery life. Maybe in future models they'll be able to increase the battery life, but until then it is totally fine with me as someone who is home pretty much at all times and able to recharge without issue. My only drawback to them is they don’t give you any pre-warning that the battery is low. The warning that you get is three beeps and they immediately shutoff. They don’t give you any warning to allow you to charge ear piece before shutting down. Overall I am super happy with these, and so pleased to have finally found some ear buds I can wear without pain. After years of searching, I finally found a pair that works for me and actually sounds great, too. ... show more

Love them! Although it has limitations
Color: Black Total product quantity: 1 Count
Bought them because i wanted something light and comfortable with an open ear experience. I've tried the Shokz OpenRun and while they're fine to maintain the openear experience, i realized I didn't love the band behind my hear when laying on a bench working out and didn't like the pads wresting on the skin just in front of my ear, felt sweaty. Then OpenFits are amazing. I can wear them ands till here things without that tunnel, I can listen to the music as if I was listening to music from external radio speakers but keeping it to myself. Sound quality is fine. Its great for what it is but you can't compare them to a full over the ear quality headphone, theres just no comparison there, but for what their purpose is I'm extremely happy. I also like on the app has preset audio settings and I like to use the Voal settings for audiobooks so I can here a crisper sharper voice I can pickup amongst ambient noise better. But then when listening to music I can turn on bass boost or stereo for a fuller satisfying listening experience. The one thing that I'm surprised about is the battery life doesn't last forever. Because they're so comfortable and I don't realize I'm still earing them, I probably wear them longer than i would other earbuds or headphones and that makes me use it more, and listen to my audiobooks for longer periods than I would with other headphones. So the battery goes quicker than I'm used to but its a quick charge back in the case. The other thing is, is that I'm surprised when I see the case battery level, always seems lower than I'd expect. but that expectation is without any real baseline or context for where it should be. All in all I'm extremely happy i have them and they're my main pair in my bag all the time! ... show more

So, I like them...except...(updated)
Color: Black Total product quantity: 1 Count
Update: While my following concerns stand, customer service was incredible helpful. After contacting them they got me a replacement set quickly, and were extremely quick and professional. If I have any problems with the replacement pair, I'll update again, but for now, here's hoping the issues with the last pair were a fluke. Second Update: The second pair is having the same problem as described below (basically the bass is blowing out, so any audio with decent bass to it sounds cheap as hell). Customer service was so great about replacing them, but having two sets of these screw up in the exact same way within a span of 8 or so months? And at this price? Honestly, just from the hassle, I don't even know if I would get these again if customer support offered to replace this second pair for free... ~~~~~~~ I've been using these for about 6 months, and they get hours of use every single day. I use them on my computer when gaming, use them so watching videos on my phone don't bother my partner, and I also use them when I work out or go on walks. Compared to the other Shokz products that are bone-conduction, I would say the sound quality is certainly a bit better, though not quite at the level of a nicer, traditional headphone. Frankly, I don't mind that at all. Plus they are extremely comfortable. Maybe not quite as much as the OpenRun Pros, but still way more comfortable than ear buds for me. Here is my big problem. After 6 months of use, the bass had blown out on them pretty badly. Anytime I am listening to something with a decent amount of bass (even someone with a deep speaking voice) then suddenly my sound is tinny and pretty awful. I don't know if it is the hours of use every day or sweat from working out (they are supposed to be sweat resistant), but it is clear to me they are reaching the end of their life. If this issue was coming up after a couple years, which is the life I got out of my original pair of base-level, cheap Shokz (back when they were called Aftershockz), I would understand. But I paid nearly $200 (after tax) for these, and I'm only getting half a year out of them!? I get that they don't make stuff last like they used to, but if an expensive pair of headphones can't even give me a year of solid use, then frankly that is a pretty big mark against them. ... show more

Love them... and hate them. The lack of actual buttons is a major turn-off.
Color: Black Total product quantity: 1 Count
I can't remember many products that I've been so torn about whether I liked them or hated them. The OpenFit is one of those rare products. I LOVE the Shokz product line. I have reverse-slope hearing loss in my left ear. I use my OpenComm headphones a lot. When mine started not working right, I purchased the OpenFit to try something different. Once I received it, I got it connected and played music. The sounds was amazing! Much different than the bone conduction method from the OpenComm, which is expected. It was downhill from there. The touch controls on the headphones was finicky to say the least. I hate it. At first, I didn't know where to touch it. It seemed to not work, then it did, then it didn't, and so on. I installed the app on my phone so the controls could be customized. The ability to customize is extremely limited. The left headphone does one thing with a touch or double-touch. The right headphone can do another. For instance, a double-touch on the right will advance a song. A touch and hold on the right will increase the volume. The same action on the left will decrease the volume. The delay in response makes adjusting the volume very aggravating. A double-touch on the left pauses a track, making it far more convenient to pause than to adjust the volume. Even then, you have to make sure you touch it in the right spot. Within seconds, I wanted to return the OpenFit. I decided to give them a chance by using them on a bike ride and the gym. As I used them for about an hour or two a day for a few days, I began to get used to the touch controls, but still didn't like the very limited control. I also noticed that I really liked the feel of them, or lack of feel, when I used them. I truly would forget I had them on. With the OpenComm, it's noticeable on the ear and certainly with the loop around the neck. When I didn't need to control anything with the headphones, I really liked the OpenFit. For anything else, I really hated them. I still don't know how to answer or hang up a call! I hesitated for a few weeks on whether I'd keep them or return them. I have a new set of OpenComm because Shokz honored their 2-year warranty. My prior set malfunctioned in the last month or two of the warranty. I was traveling. When I returned and could file the claim, it technically was outside the 2-year period. Shokz hassle-free replaced my OpenComm. It's not the best device for the gym, certainly not for the airplane, but it's great for 90% of what I do and need it for on a daily basis. In the end, I made the decision to return the OpenFit. I think it is a perfect device for many people, just not me. It's much more expensive than it has value to me because of the limitations in the customization and the fact it has touch controls that I consider absolutely useless. If it had haptic buttons that could be felt quickly and easily, I would likely have kept the OpenFit. Customization could be modified with a simple software update, I'm sure. In summary, OpenFit is a great device but has serious shortcomings in limited customization of the poor implementation of touch controls. ... show more

Great sound quality and battery life after 2 years!
Color: Black Total product quantity: 1 Count
I love these things! (OpenFit) Sound is great and as far as the battery, well I've had these for 2 years and they ate still going strong. I have them on most of the time (when I'm awake). My kids are always calling me when I am in the middle of doing something. I'm ALWAYS doing something! I love that I can still do these things and not have to hold a phone in my hand. You can't go from about 40' from your phone b/c they will disconnect if you do, which is understandable. I bought a set for my husband as well. We both also have a set off the OpenRun for activities on the go. I like those because you don't have to worry about them falling off your ears if running or mushroom hunting. They are a little pricey from what I've had in the past, but those ones the batteries didn't last long between charges or have a long batterylife. If you buy either model of these, you won't be disappointed. ... show more
