I purchased my first pair of Shokz 5 years ago, headband, open run. When they came out with the mini, I ordered a set of those to fit under hoods and hats. And now they have upped their game with the OpenDots ONE! I have looked at this type of earbud before but the reviews were always not good, and the manufacturer would not one I trusted. But I've been so pleased with my previous products from Shokz, these were a no-brainer! So for starters they do work very well. Sound quality is comparable to their other open ear products. Open ear products allow you to hear music or podcasts but at the same time still be aware of your surroundings. Since I walk early morning, and I live in black Bear country, I want to be alert at all times. These are perfect. The application allows you some customization and to do updates. I charged up the case when I first got them. The case is still at 80% and I've worn them every day for several hours at a time. I got the gray, which is a very pale neutral almost beige gray. The case has a metallic cap which is very attractive. The case itself is a nice little egg shape. I have a OnePlus 13 Android phone and a OnePlus watch. I'm able to control volume, and other functions through the watch or the phone very easily. Pause and play with double taps on buds takes a bit of practice (It's why I chose the original open run because of the physical button). I do find that the only voice to control volume is with the phone or the watch. There isn't a way to control the volume directly on the earbuds. If that's a deal breaker for you then these are not for you. Because they're so small and light they're extremely comfortable. The band is flexible so it just gently holds on to your earlobe. They're also extremely lightweight. I forgot I was wearing them a couple of times. They have an auto turn off function so that if they're not in your ear they turn off. I don't know what genius technology this is that actually does this but it works. So if you do have to remove them and you forgotten to bring the case with you they won't discharge the battery. They have a USBC port in the bottom to charge the case. Comes with a simple instruction booklet. Other instructions are in the application. I got these on sale for $149 during Amazon days. Really glad I got the sale price. Very much worth it. I think $200 was a bit over the mark for me. These are compatible with either Android or Apple devices. A whole lot better than those silly Apple AirPods (sorry -not sorry- I said what I said. The AirPod and AirPods style earbuds are ridiculous. They fall out. I'm not surprised they get lost all the time) Which brings me to the find my feature... You can only find the earbuds if they are outside the case or the case is open. So if you drop one, it does ping. If they are closed in the case they can't be seen. I can't imagine why I needed three different pair of open ear headsets. But Shokz hit this one out of the park, so I'm happy with the purchase.

I am unfortunately overly sensitive to noise (and other things). I have around 7 different headphones, most noise cancelling. Although they work they are not comfortable no matter what I try (alternating, different tips and covers). When I am in public my senses get overwhelmed. Although music helps, I prefer to hear things around me for spatial awareness. Even with that ‘hear through’ feature I still feel somewhat vulnerable and again my ears get uncomfortable after a while. I love the shokz line and bone induction feature but did not like the strap that goes in the back because I couldn’t lay down or lean back in a chair without it moving. When I saw these opendots I was hopeful and I was not disappointed! I’m not an audiophile but I can tell between good and bad. The sound is solid but it is the comfort that shines! For my ears I can barely feel them, plus I can hear the music and the things around me. I can also move them around my ear lobe, it affects the sound but it prevents that ear fatigue. I plan to use white noise when focusing and music for out and about. I hope these hold up, and if they have issues I am the type to come back to this review and update.

These are amazing and are perfect for my work calls. I’ve always been an Apple person. All of my tech is Apple and I’m good with that. But I wanted an earbud for my work calls. I don’t want noise cancelling because I like to hear what’s going on around me. Aldo I have trouble wearing the in ear type buds all day. These are the perfect solution. They are light weight and comfortable. Easy single tap mutes, single tap unmute. I am aware of what’s going on around me. I’m not in a bubble nor am I yelling in a call. I can wear them for calls or for music all day without ANY discomfort. They’re easy to clip on and easy to take off, but not so easy that they just fall off. I am really wishing I tried these years ago! They are awesome. The battery lasts all day and they recharge incredibly fast. They are not noise canceling… but that is what I wanted. For noise canceling, I use my Apple.

Back in 2010, I began powerwalking daily—anywhere from 5.5 to 12 miles. During those long walks, I’d immerse myself in audiobooks, using a pair of direct-wired earbuds. Eventually, I upgraded to Bluetooth models from Plantronics and Bose. The Plantronics earbuds held up impressively for over a decade, but they’re finally falling apart, and the Bose ones no longer hold a decent charge. This Prime Day, I decided it was time for a change and picked up a pair of open-ear earbuds from SHOKZ at a great price. I couldn’t be happier with them. The sound quality is far superior to any earbuds I’ve used before, and they’re incredibly lightweight. I also own a pair of Bose QuietComfort Bluetooth headphones, and to my surprise, the SHOKZ open-ear earbuds deliver audio performance that rivals the QuietComforts. PS - I am a hard grader and it's very rare I hand out a 5-star.

I really wanted to love these! But they were very uncomfortable on my small ears. Almost felt like they used magnets to make them stay clipped on the ear and it pinched/put pressure on the thin part of ear and was uncomfortable for me. I have a cheap pair of open ears and was really looking to upgrade but these did not work for my ears. Sound was great tho! Way better than another pair I have from a popular brand, that starts with Anke. Super easy to tap and pause it and they intuitively stopped playing when removed which was awesome. Be prepared if you do return for it to take weeks for a refund tho
