  • Go Hard With These
Size: Large
I'll start off by saying I'm an aggressive rollerblader, so I use these depending on the setting and session. I own quite a few of these from different brands and types, so when I received these I was interested because of its design. The pads remind me of some other crash pads, horizontally angled pads rather than vertical, with a separate, harder pad, for the tailbone area. The fit itself is easily the best fit I have of any crash pad I own. The pads work well, and the coverage is well good, but, you will still find a gap eventually and will end up banging something in between the pads, it's inevitable, but these do well to displace the hit because the pads are on a curve. Meaning, eventually you're going to hit part of a pole, ramp, whatever between the pads, but because of the way the pads are, most of the blow should be absorbed by a piece of pad, because of how their set on an angle. What really sets this apart is the tailbone pad. This thing was a game changer for me. I have hit my tailbone on rails many, many times. It never stops hurting, and it never hurts any less. So when I rammed my tailbone into a pole with these on and bounced off the thing with barely any sensation of an impact, I was stoked. It happened repeatedly and I walked away lacing the trick and doing so without a sore tailbone. I have been using these as my main set for the past few months and these are easily my favorite ones. A big aspect of crash pads that most don't talk about is how the tailbone pad is usually the pad that wears down the most, and most of the time it isn't because of constant falls, but just sitting down with the pads on. I've had trash pads where after two or three days, the tailbone pad pretty much pancaked out and hitting my tailbone felt like it had nothing protecting it. This tailbone pad is hard, so when I sit my butt down it doesn't compress, so when i actually fall on the pad it continues to do what it's meant to do. I talk about, in some of my other reviews, other products that are game changers for me when I use them. This is one of those as well. I love these pads. I will buy more of these. I do recommend these, highly!! ... show more

  • Has other uses.
Size: Medium
For my job, I sometimes have to get on concrete floors to adjust things, laying on your hip on concrete floors is a sure-way to have joint problems when you're older. So I got these to get some much needed hip protection. These do not give me as much hip protection as I would like, but are good to wear when I'm in a pinch and cannot get something to lie down on while I work. The material appears to be of very good quality, the stitching is nice and the sizing is on point. The back side has enough padding to make cycling more comfortable too. So, I do really like that this has multiple uses for someone like me. 4/5, would recommend ... show more

  • Run a little big but great quality!
Size: Large
Love them so far! I'm hoping to use them for skiing but I'm a little concerned they will be too bulky under my shell bibs...time will tell! The quality and materials are excellent!

  • Great fit
Size: Small
This was purchased with the intension to use while snowboarding and while riding a onewheel. The fit is very comfortable and provides great range of movement. Padding is in just the right spots and seems to be plenty durable as it's already taken a few hits. The shorts shipped with an extra panel for the rear that is thinner, but I'd never use it. The only thing I'd change about these shorts is to have them offered with a d30 panel in the back door more tailbone protection. ... show more

  • Great protection padding for mountain biking and rollerblading
Size: Medium
This protection padding fits like a hockey girdle. It is breathable and comfortable. It can fit comfortably over underwear and under athletic pants. The padded shorts are well made and add great protection while mountain biking and rollerblading. I have used these pads while biking and rollerblading and they do not feel bulking and fit well without feeling like they add too much weight. Great value for these padded shorts. There is an extra rear padding that is included. Would recommend these padded shorts! ... show more

  • Well priced and great fit!
Size: Large
I've taken up roller skating again recently and the older I get the more I'm worried about falling since it's easier to break things. We all know with skate falls, it's not if, it's when. As far as protective gear, I've learned my lesson the hard way. I was suited up with elbow, wrist and knee pads but fell backwards and cracked my head pretty good. Idiot me didn't have a helmet(I've since invested in one). Yet, my greatest fear is hurting my tailbone so it was time for padded shorts. I don't care about bruises and scrapes but tailbone injuries sound really painful. I've looked at and tried a variety of crash pants, on the cheaper side to very expensive. None of them were comfortable. Either they were too bulbous, or I felt like I was wearing a diaper or they were too tight or restrictive. Based on waist/hip measurements, instead of weight, I got these in a large. I was on the border within an inch but every time I've ordered a medium in padded shorts, they're too snug. I'd rather some wiggle room instead. After trying them on, I could've gotten a medium. They're super stretchy and very comfortable. I really like that I can change the tailbone pad or add more protection. There are 3 different pads and you can pair them together if you want. Removeable pads are awesome since it makes it easier to wash your protective gear. I'm not too worried about hip bruising (until I learn otherwise) so I probably won't keep those side pads in. These padded shorts are super customizable to your needs. These shinypro shorts are the most comfortable padded shorts I've tried and I don't have any complaints! ... show more
