This is a great kitchen island for the price. Assembly was pretty tough for me. I’m 24 and I’ve built my fair share of furniture so far (dressers, bookcase, coffee table) but this was the first time I’ve built something with drawers AND doors AND a countertop and I could not have done it by myself. My sibling helped me and I’d say if you’re a casual builder like me you will probably need another person. And you definitely need a proper screwdriver as the one they give you simply doesn’t tighten enough and is too small. I used a ratcheting screwdriver and this was MUCH better than the provided screwdriver (though it is nice that they provide one). The door alignment is perfect, it is set up for you in such a way that makes door installation easy and impossible to unalign which I really liked. The instructions were very clear and helpful and even included helpful tips. I love all of the new storage I have added to my room, and especially the counter space. In the middle of the building process, it was SUPER FLIMSY and wobbly, but trust the process! Once all the lock screws are installed and the drawers are in place, it begins to sturdy up just fine! And definitely don’t skip step 18 (or the last one, I forget if it was 18 or not), it increases the sturdiness a lot. Now, the reason I docked off a star was because of the way the item was shipped. The box was open in several places and there was minor damage to the paint, but luckily the damage is in spots that are not visible on my item. 2 of the hardware bags were open inside the box and screws were loose in the box everywhere. I had to clean out the whole box to find everything I needed before starting. Luckily, everything was in the box, just loose. I ended up with a lot of extra pieces after, which I assume are “just in case” pieces. Oh! I just remembered I also noticed that the step with the wheels was misprinted. There are 2 sixes and 3 sevens (or the other way around I can’t recall but two of the wheels are different than the others) and the instructions had this backwards, unless I’m mistaken, but I don’t think I am. Overall, I’m very pleased with the end product! It was a pain to assemble and it wasn’t as organized as it could have been, but it also could have been a lot worse.     • My island table very versatile
I love my island it far exceeded my expectations for a small kitchen area. I did not want tables and chairs that take up so much room. Although it takes about 1 hour to put together it was worth it. The table top is easy to clean, stays in place with the lock wheels, enough drawer space to store your favorite utensils for fast and easy assesability. I paired this island with my rust island chairs and it’s absolutely beautiful! As a plus I have more you to maneuver in my kitchen. I happy with my overall purchase, I also like the drop leaf on it, I haven’t had a problem just leaving it up it’s sturdy enough for just 2 people. We purchased this for our son to have more storage space in his apartment kitchen. He liked this particular island bc of its drop leaf design so he could use it for a dining surface with counter stools. If you have ever put cheap furniture together, you know to expect misaligned holes for screw attachment and subpar material and poor instructions. This item delivers that in spades. The magnet for the doors would not catch the metal pieces on the doors and the “attachment” for the doors at the hinge side is an absolute joke. He was filming himself rolling the island to its resting place in the apartment and the doors swung open and crashed to the floor. We ended up putting the doors in the dumpster and he will use the now “open” shelves. The drawers do slide in and out correctly and are aligned. And the top piece does seem sturdy for now although I would not lean my elbows on the drop leaf section for fear of the repercussions. The cams were difficult to fit bc the holes were drilled too large. The “tools” provided are a joke, we definitely needed our own tools. We were under a strict deadline to get him moved in and needed something I could ship there in time so against my better judgment I ordered this based on the reviews. I should have known better. In theory this could have been perfect, as it fits two counter height stools nicely. But it truly it is cheap and junky. We will be replacing it for him in short order and this one will be in a landfill, sadly. ... show more

    • Expect to get what you pay for
It's cheap so you get what you pay for. Looks nice and saves space. However, the back panels are so flimsy that it's hard to get them into the grooves and I ended up just giving up and letting the whole thing be a little wonky because of them. Secondly, the screws for the cupboard handles aren't long enough to catch the threads and tighten down. I'm going to have to dig around in my spare screws to see if I can get something that works. It definitely feels cheap, but will hopefully save on space and increase storage opportunities in my teeny kitchen. ... show more

Easy to put together, took hubs about 1 1/2 hr to assemble. Lots of space to store things, leaf props up to use as breakfast counter. Wheels to move but can be locked in place. Great purchase.
