Description

The Shimano Deore XT M8000 11-speed 11-40 cassette is the key piece to Shimano's latest evolution of their newest Deore XT group. With the addition of an 11th cog, XT now gives you a wider gear range and smoother shifting progression. The XT M8000 cassette now goes up to an enormous 40T cog, which gives you a much easier gear for those big climbs. That means you can run XT as either a 1x system with a single chainring upfront without sacrificing your climbing gear, with a 2x system that offers far more versatile gearing options, or even a 3x with a low gear that would let you grind up almost a vertical wall if you needed to. But Shimano didn't just stick a big cog on the back of a 10-speed cassette. They carefully selected the cogs with their new Rhythm Step progression to ensure that the shifting feels balanced, smooth, and progressive, without any big or jarring jumps in the cassette. Plus, thanks to a cantilevered 11th cog, the M8000 cassette will fit on your old 8/9/10-speed freehub bodies, no wheel upgrades required.Features: HG-X11 specific tooth profile Aluminum and steel cogs Rhythm Step progression Fits 8/9/10-speed freehub bodies 11-13-15-17-19-21-24-27-31-35-40

  • Nice Cassette
Size: 11-46
This cassette works well, holds up well, and works as advertised. I have this on a 1x11 Bafang converted ebike.

  • Solid, good value, have bought multiple times
Size: 11-42
Significantly lighter than the SLX and much, *MUCH* less than the XTR cassette... This is the perfect middle ground. Not to mention many more teeth options than the XTR cassette. Such a solid piece that I've repeat purchase 4 times after thousands of miles and multiple wheelsets.

  • Good cassette
Size: 11-46
Works pretty good with my 11 speed GX derailleur. Better range than the OEM sram cassette.

  • Classic Shimano
Size: 11-40
Installed on 2015 Niner RLT9 9. I paired this with a 42T chainring and a GRX mech derailleur and have an awesome setup that climbs nearly anything. Spin out above 29 mph-fine for me. Install was a breeze.

  • Massive range on a single cassette.
Size: 11-46
Ditched the 2x10 for a 1x11 worked out the ranges I had using the two front rings, with a single 34 up front and the 11-46 at the rear I really did not lose much in between. The 46 t is massive but if you want a really good crawling compromise on 1x set up this is the way to go. Paired it up to an XT mech and shifter, took about an hour set it all up and like most Shimano stuff once set simply forget. Works perfectly and even changing up to the 46 is as effortless as the rest of the cassette. Just pay attention to the B screw spacing. ... show more

  • love it
Size: 11-46
I'm running the 11-42 on my other bike with a 34t chainring. I wanted to run a 38t chainring on this bike to get me a little more top end speed. I picked the 11-46 to offset the 38t. Worked like a charm. In low it feels like little old ladies with walkers may pass you at any moment but there isn't a hill steep enough that you cant power through. ... show more
