Can't say much about it it's the first winter

  • Expect to buy another cover soon
Color: Gray Size: 6' x 12' x 8' Style: Peak Pattern Name: Storage Shed
The shed isn't exceedingly difficult to put together and it's fairly sturdy, certainly doing what I need it to as a storage for lawn mower, mower lift, etc. I bought it in late January and put it together in February. By October, I'd say, the cover had ripped almost completely across the top, with the end panels close to ripping. (We live in central Texas and had freezing weather/snow for a few days and a mild summer for what it's worth.) The cover had a 1-year warranty so I filled out the form for a replacement. The replacement does not come with a warranty, though, so expect to pay $160 plus shipping for further replacements of the same quality or upgrade to the version for $470 plus shipping w/ 10 yr. warranty on cover/3 yr. on end panels or the version for $640 plus shipping w/ 15 yr. warranty on cover/3 yr. on end panels. I went with the next version up, $376 after discounting for the warranty and adding shipping and tax. I'm not looking forward to the hassle of taking the old one off, disassembling pipes and running new cover through, etc. but that's the way it goes. Bottom line is just expect to pay several hundred more for a better cover in a few months or upgrade before you build it. The replacement should be here in 8 weeks I was told. ... show more

Ok, so there are a few things that I didn't know when putting this together. One - make sure to separate everything to make sure you have what you need. The different screws were difficult to figure out which ones where the "long" screws. This could be eliminated if they simply separated them and gave them a part number like they do the rods. Two - look through the entire instructions prior to starting as there are a couple of things they have you put together and then move around it or take it apart to do the next step. Three - I got cheaper and easier to use anchors. The ones that come with it are more difficult to use. I went to Ocean State job lots in the pet section and got 4 anchors that screw much easier into the ground. I utilized these with ratchet straps that I attached to the side rails and it keeps the structure from moving at all. I did have some burs inside of the rods that are supposed to fit together so make sure you have a small file that fits onto your hand drill just in case you have to file them down like I did. DO NOT tighten all of the screws. Little tip - put clear nail polish on them prior to screwing them in and once it dries, it'll hold them in place without having to tighten too much. Tightening them too much will crush the rods and if you ever need to take it apart, you'll never be able to put it back together. To take it apart if using the nail polish, take a heat gun or hair dryer to it and loosen it up. One thing I was also told by my neighbor was to get a light colored tarp to place over the shelter. The reason for that is to keep it cooler and to protect it. The sun is generally what diminishes the material so if you put a tarp over it to begin with, there won't be sun damage that will eventually make the material thin which will get destroyed by the wind. This is a good pro-active choice to keep the integrity of the shelter for a long time to come. This size fit my Harley very nicely and has kept her nice and dry. ... show more

you have to organize all the poles and bolts first. Instead of a,b,c the poles are labeled 1000738, 1000357. All the nuts and bolts came in the same bag. I had to lay them out 100+ pieces, and organize them by size. Having said that, once you get going it starts working out pretty good. This is probably the strongest, best value storage tent in a box out there. I'm pleased with my purchase, may get another, but they could label and organize the parts much better ... show more

  • Need stuff kept dry? Get this.
Color: Gray Size: 6' x 12' x 8' Style: Peak Pattern Name: Storage Shed
I own two of these. Easy to assemble, keeps things dry. Directions were pretty straightforward. I installed one of mine on a blacktop driveway and bolted the legs on each side to a 2" x 6" x 12' piece of pressure treated lumber. The other I installed in the yard and put a paver patio under it. Snow load resistance is pretty good. I was very careful over the winter to go out and knock the snow off with a broom if there was more then 2 or 3 inches on it. Wind resistance is pretty good too. I keep the flaps zipped. We've had some gusty storms in the last year since I've had it up and no problems. I'm not sure what the best thing to do in a hurricane might be though. I guess I'd take the cover off, leave the poles and hope for the best. I have it set up so the stuff inside can be wrapped in a tarp in the event of a hurricane. I think I'd be uncomfortable with leaving it up in sustained winds above about 50mph. I think there would be alot of variables in how it performs in a wind environment though (near house or not, quality of anchoring job, windward/leeward side of house, etc). Once thing I did do that was not in the directions was to bolt together all of the pipe connections that did not come with holes. I drilled holes through those connections and put some carriage bolts through. ... show more

Is all that it's claimed to be.. Instructions are good. Labeling on metal pipes should be easier to read but overall not bad.. Final assembling takes two people but easy to do once pieces are put together. Great value for the money.. I would buy again if needed.

  • Perfect for my needs
Color: Gray Size: 6' x 12' x 8' Style: Peak Pattern Name: Storage Shed
I'm in Seattle where it rains. I have a 6.5' x 25' space between the garage and side fence. As this has a zipper at both ends, I install two of these end to end, overlapping the top/sides and leaving out the doors. We have had some torrential rains 60 mph winds, and it hasn't cared. I have my work bench, saws and storage in this area now, and it has stayed bone dry. The front and back feet are strange as they curve into the space. With a narrow space like this, they were a tripping problem. I twisted them to the side and drilled new holes for the bolts. Instead of the auger type hold downs for all the feet, I used 2' rebar and pounded most of it into the ground. I'm not saying this would be a perfect solution for everyone; my shelter is trapped between the side fence, the garage, and the front fence, so it cannot really go anywhere. Extremely happy with the shelters and the amazon price. ... show more
