    • Typical Chinese garbage.
This light was great until it wasn't. Fixture is quite heavy and appeared to be well built. Tested the light on the bench using one of the built in shows and was so impressed I decided I wanted to use it in our lighting setup. Unfortunately, when I went to hang this fixture, I could CLEARLY hear something was loose inside the case. Took the fixture down, opened the unit up, and was not impressed with what I saw. First thing I noticed was the screws that were used to secure the plastic clam shell/shroud to the lower frame. Three out of the four screws that secure the shroud were correct. However, the fourth screw was a screw with threads clearly meant for plastic. Yet, someone during assembly decided to force it into a hole meant for a threaded machine screw. The second strike was that one of these four screws was also stripped. Meaning, someone over torqued the machine screw until it damaged the threads on the metal frame of the base. The third (and final strike) was discovering (1). Miscellaneous plastic swarf still inside the lower frame, and (2). A single loose zip 4" tie just floating around inside of the lower frame as well. This was obviously the sound I was hearing when attempting to hang the unit and know full well had I not discovered this, that this stuff would have found its way into the drive assembly, potentially causing belt damage or failure. Over the last month or so, I have purchased MULTIPLE moving head fixtures here on Amazon and all had serious issues (damaged DMX jacks, broken belts, dead LED's, etc.). This was the last fixture I had purchased and was convinced that this was going to be the light we used in our setup. Needless to say, it too failed to meet my expectations. On the bright side, it could have been much worse had I discovered all this after purchasing 12 of these... My opinion? I advise not buying these types of fixtures off of Amazon. While brand name lights are also made in China (i.e. ADJ, Chauvet, Eliminator, etc.), they at least come with a warranty you can fall back on should they fail in the field.
