I've wasted so much money trying products that just sit on top of my hair and make it look greasy and make my scalp itchy. My hair is very low porosity and also very fine, so gets weighted down very easily. This actually works! My curls are soft and light. They're not frizzy and don't look wet. I have spent years trying to find the right products for my child’s hair. She has curls that range from 3a-4b also having low porosity in most of it. So they joy I felt when I found this line that produced a sweet smell, softness, and moisture to her hair was everything. It helped with all the tangles and a small amount went a long way. So my son’s hair is basically waterproof. When I spray it with the spray bottle the water just sits on top of his hair until I really rub it in. A random stranger in Target that I worked up the guts to ask how she got her son’s hair so amazing recommended this! I’m so glad she did. It doesn’t take a lot which is also great! I know in the pic it looks a little frizzy but that is after it’s been in all day! With all the other products I’ve tried it’s soooo bad by the end of the day. This is good! lol! The product did hydrate my 4C hair better than my usual leave-in but I am not a fan of the smell. Too much of a menthol type smell that I don’t care for and won’t repurchase. Might work for you if you like that type of scent.

My son has very, very thick, extremely low porosity curly hair and it has been such a struggle to find something that allows us to leave his hair out regularly without it getting dry and tangled halfway through the day. I mean his hair could go through a rainstorm and come out dry its that low porosity. I didn't have much hope as I'd tried thier deep conditioning conditioner and was not impressed but at this point I had tried everything else. You have to use quite a bit of product (at least we do) and it can sit on the hair for a little while but given time it sinks in and pop, the curl pattern shines and his hair feels and looks nourished. It also smells good. My only request would be to make it clear rather than an opaque white but it's not a massive deal. If they discontinued this product Shea Moisture better be prepared for my letters of complaint. ... show more
