Let me tell you something there are many products which have let me down over the years from Neutrogena to Nivea even the soaps sold in mom stores like Avon. The only thing that has ever really helped me with my skin issues are aloe soaps and drinking huge quantities of water. I've been hearing about black soap for about a decade now but I never really made the effort to find it and purchase it. Now as a bearded man my face is prone to ingrown hair and huge razor bumps at a time which have caused hair to grow in patches. I said there has to be something out there that can help me with this because the aloe soap, shea butter body wash, beard wash and lavender soap was not doing it. I decided to give this soap a try after much research because regular African black soap has a reputation on its own and so does Shea so I said both of them combined something has to work. I received this product on Friday April 13th and today on April 17th I can truly say to you all the razor bumps and rough skin on my face that I was use to is cleared up. It does not leave the skin irritated, ashy, cracked or dry but it leaves it with a nice smooth and oily finish. The soap allows new growth to grow in as well as give you a nice organic cocoa and shea smell. THIS SOAP HYDRATES, EXFOLIATES, CLEARS UP AND MOISTURIZES all in one. I love the scent of this bar of soap, but I cannot bring to words how to describe it. It does contain fragrance though and I know that can be bothersome to some people's skin. I can't say that I've noticed any difference with my skin not getting breakouts as I now have 2 new under the skin breakouts that are quite painful as I'm writing this review. The charcoal in this bar also leaves your skin feeling very stripped of any moisture, which is the purpose since its drying out the oil in your skin to reduce the breakouts occurring. If you are using this to wash your face, remember to moisture after! I mean moisturize otherwise you're just leaving your skin overly dry and thirsty. When I'm using this for my face I like to lather the bar in my hands and make the suds enough to cover my entire face and remove the dirt. It doesn't do very well with removing any eye makeup and it sure does burn when it gets into your eyes. Trust me from experience, I did a premature eye opener when my 2 year old said aloud from the outside of the shower "look what I did mommy!" and instinctively opened my eyes to only let soap in them. Ouch. When applying to my chest and shoulders I just rub the bar along my body until enough lather has accumulated and wash as normal. Again, I havent noticed much of difference with using this on my body either, but I do love the scent so I continue to use it. I wouldnt say this is a must have item to add to your daily routine, but if you enjoy the scent and keep in mind that you must take care of your skin after wards, I would purchase it. ... show more

I buy this for my teen who has oily skin and 4C hair that requires oil. Her skin doesn't stand a chance! With this soap she minimizes break outs because it does prevent the oil accumulating too much. She has super sensitive skin that breaks out a lot but at least this helps even more than anything else we have tried. ... show more
