They are sturdy though so it would be hard to accidentally pull it apart and set it off by accident. Functions perfectly for a loud distraction. This is very sensitive. I had two. One was quiet and the second, loud. They pull and go off without trying to set it off . It went off when I hung my purse up. Even with the pin still in but pulled out a little. I was in a public place. Lots of attention. It is still going off and can't stop it. It has been 1 hour and forty five minutes. Bought a few of these for the girls at work at the hospital with me. They are very loud easy to activate with one hand would recommend for anybody that has to walk through a parking lot by themselves.
