When I need something permanent, I reach for Sharpies. I use the reliable sharp point for most things, but when I need more text to fit than the other allows these ultra fine point markers are the best I've found. They are the most permanent I've used. If a surface is slick enough, I can rub the marker off which has come in handy when I've made a mistake. Right now I am labeling plants that I am putting out in the garden. A set of these and some plastic markers is all I need to label a few hundred plants. I'm really happy with the performance of these - especially where water proofness comes into play. When I need it to stay, I write with a sharpie. Right now, I'm shocked that these are the cheapest I could find with this fine of a point. I love these Sharpies. They're fun to write with and work well. The only exception is sometimes, even when they've been sitting with their caps on, they're a tad dry when I first try to use them on a given day. But that's remedied by just trying to draw a line or write for a couple seconds, the same way you might do with a ball-point pen. Then their ink revs back up. Really not much to say, these are your standard "Ultra Fine Point" Sharpie, in a two pack for under $2! I'm sure just about everyone on the planet has used Sharpies before, so I really don't need to go into detail. I will give 2 tips (no pun intended!), 1) store your sharpies, for that matter, ALL your markers, dry-erase (white board) markers, and pens POINT DOWN!! Doing so will make the ink run down to the tip, so you'll get max life out of your markers/pens. If you store them point up, they won't last very long! Tip 2), clean the surface with rubbing alcohol BEFORE writing, especially on surfaces that could be greasy or something. It'll work much better, like how you have more grip running on dry ground rather than wet ground! Be sure to allow the alcohol to dry BEFORE marking, or it'll (the ink, that is) run! In case anyone's wondering, I received genuine Sharpies, not knockoffs or anything, I think some people claim they received generic Sharpies.
