Outstanding sled. I've had sleds before that don't move well on snow pack when its slushy. This is not one of them. It moves and slides so easy on snow and ice. Mine was loaded down with about a 100lbs of gear and it maneuvered easily. It goes over snow fall easy and on ice you can sling it ahead of you and it will glide like an ice skate. This is just stock without runner strips on the bottom for less friction. One change I would highly recommend is before you put the rope on, slide a half inch piece of pvc pipe fitted with 30 degree elbows on each end. About a foot wide. This changes the leverage where you don't have a rope digging into your hand pulling a heavy load and you can toss it over a tail hitch on atv without it twisting or popping off. ... show more

I hardly ever write reviews but I feel compelled because this sled is awesome!! I bought this sled primarily to haul firewood length logs I've cut out in the woods behind my house during the winter. I haul the firewood out of the woods during the non-winter months using a Gorilla cart but, while the Gorilla cart is great, it isn't the best for some terrain because the land is a combination of hills, swampy-mud and rocks. When I bought this sled to haul standing-dead trees I had cut in winter, I couldn't believe how easy it was to haul the wood! It slides easily on as little as 1/64 of an inch of snow barely covering the leaves. If the leaves are completely covered with snow, it is even easier. It really reduces the effort needed to haul the wood. I can easily traverse the swampy-mud that are frozen in winter, the rocks, small bushes, downed tree limbs, etc... Beyond the wood hauling capabilities, we have used it for sledding. I am so disgusted with buying the cheap plastic snow sleds for $10 - $15 only to have it shatter into 20 different pieces the first day you use it to go sledding on a cold day. The cheap and thin plastic on cheap sleds shatters too easily. Buying those cheap sleds is just like throwing my money away. THIS SLED, on the other hand, is EXTREMELY HEAVY-DUTY! I went sledding with my 2 sons in this sled and even went over jumps that someone had built where we were sledding. So, 1 adult and 2 kids in this sled at the same time going over a jump that was about 1 foot tall, catching air and landing was nothing for this sled. I imagine that this sled it will easily last a lifetime. Highly recommended!! ... show more

    • Amazing what you can do with this
Bought this to drag around the lake on the ice. The place I go is accessed by a steep trail. I just let the sled go before me on the way down, and drag it back up (weight is a factor when you do this but that is not the fault of the sled). It easily holds four fishing rods and rod holders, two folding chairs, a tackle bag, snacks, a thermos, a shelter, and a camp stove. And we found one other thing by accident. It will float a 155 lb person, though with little freeboard. We had a section of ice break off in a high wind and had two people 'escape' using this as a boat. We had some extra rope along and we pulled it back and forth across the gap. Four trips for gear and people. Whoda thunk it? On the ice, it pulls very easily. I like a longer lead on the ice, and a shorter one on the hill/trail. Easily done with a drill and a piece of 'truck rope'. Just tie a knot in it to get a smaller 'loop' ... show more

    • Big, Bold and Easy to Drag
We bought this for 3 year old grandson so our son-in-law could take him sledding. The sled is so versatile and easy to drag on even the slightest amount of snow that they use the sled to go around the neighborhood, to the park, etc. Huge success.

Did like it as a gift. However it does not do well over rocky territory, gravel, or stone. Can be modified better for attaching rope or a sturdy chain. Recommended for hauling things as logs, fish, tools, and small amounts of dirt or gravel. What is not recommended: pulling passengers behind any moving machine (ATV, side by side, motor vehicle, or likewise) at speeds that can cause bodily harm! ... show more
