Wore it today for the first time and was very surprised at how well it worked and how lightweight it was. I was worried about wearing it in August in south central Texas I would pass out from heat stroke or be forced to take it off for relief but neither were true.     • Light support & smoothing for 3x/4x pear/hourglass shapes

I wanted to post an initial review in case anyone like me has events this weekend and is considering buying this. TL; Dr: these shaper shorts are great if you're looking for light compression/support and some smoothing. As a tall plus size woman (5'11", 310lbs, 50-46-56, usually wear a 3x/4x), this item suits my needs to look a bit smoother under clingy dresses, prevent thigh chafing, and provide some abdominal compression for POTS symptoms relief. I have my highschool reunion this weekend and will be wearing a bodycon dress, so I wanted some shaper shorts that would smooth me out a bit without being uncomfortable. The mixed reviews on this item scared me a bit, but so far I'm glad I took a chance. I've been wearing them to work the past couple of days to test them out in case I needed to switch sizes or to another brand. These shaper shorts are surprisingly comfortable for having a decent amount of light-modedate compression. While I'm tall, I'm also quite short-waisted with a long hip/pelvis, and carry most of my weight in my stomach, butt, and upper thighs. The waistband comes all the way up to my bra line, but so far has not rolled down thanks to the fabric quality and small stays strategically placed. The legs are also a great length to not roll on my thick thighs - I'm easily able to adjust them higher or lower depending on the length of my skirt. The fabric is fairly breathable and soft, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Other than the very top of the waistband, I can't feel them on after a bit. I'm glad I went with the 4x instead of the 3x. My measurements were on the low end of the 4x, and I decided to opt for comfort over stronger compression. The shorts are quite stretchy, and I imagine someone several inches bigger than me could comfortably wear them. The shorts washed fine in a laundry bag on delicate cycle and didn't shrink too much. I can't speak to their long-term durability and performance, but I will update this review after my events with pictures and final thoughts. Overall, I definitely can recommend these to others looking for similar qualities in shaper shorts. I hope this review helps other tall plus size women as I know how hard it is to find comfortable, flattering clothing for us. ... show more

This garment is very comfortable, the most comfortable tummy controller I've worn. I wore it for 8hrs to an event and as light and comfortable as it is, I was surprised by how well it controls the tummy, hips area. It's high waisted and DID NOT fold down, but stayed in place, above the midriff. I simply have it a 4-star rating bc it kept riding up on the thighs. It wasn't a problem with the thighs riding up, as I was wearing a skirt (with a form fitting dress/skirt, it may be an issue), it also wasn't uncomfortable, just a bit annoying. This shapewear is good if you need only a little bit of smoothing. The fabric is pretty light and stretchy and doesn’t offer a lot of compression if looking to decrease size. They are comfortable at least since they aren’t too tight and a lot more breathable than other shapewear I own. These do not have an opening at the crotch but they are easy to pull down. They seem to have added vertical 2”boning to the top band that isn’t shown in the product photos. That helps the top band not roll. These don’t do a lot for me but they do smooth a bit and help reduce jiggle. ... show more

Old school girdle or bicycle shorts should not be the only options for plus size women who wear dresses and now they are not. I was skeptical when I saw the ads for this brand and hesitated to give it a try, but I am glad I did. I reluctantly made my purchase and expected the worst. When I pulled the garment out of the package it looked small, less than half my width when I held it in front of me. I was sure it would not fit but it was here, and I decided to give it ago before requesting a return. I was so surprised! The material is lightweight and stretches to fit without looking like it is going to get a run or have a stretched look after wearing. It was easy to pull on with very little grunting and groaning, (if you know, you know). It was so lightweight and flexible I thought it couldn't possibly still feel fresh at the end of the day, but it was amazing. It is still warm weather, and I was not left sweating when my day finished. The material breaths nicely and that evening, after a 11.5-hour day, when I took these off there were almost no lines on my legs. I have occasional circulation problems, and this had no impact on my feet or legs. I do not sit all day so that may look different, but these are not tight or binding and they really do smooth a lot of the standard lines you get from wearing hosiery under your dress. I have since bought two more directly from the manufacturer and am very satisfied with the product.
