Highly effective portable pump for most household applications. Kicking out about a half-gallon per second, it's able to pump its way through any project rapidly. I'm not sure that this is a good item for a well pump, more likely and best used as a portable utility pump as it is not fully waterproof. So this pump really moves the water and does what it's designed to do. My porblems arose when I discovered this thing needs protection from weather. Can't get too hot, no rain, no snow and of course no freezing weather. Now all of these things are easily overcome but need to be dealt with. The pump also needs to be primed which is a pain in the bottom , in order to use it. The pump is surprisingly quite considering it's 1.6hp. I think this pump is a good value purchase. ... show more
