Hooked on Fishing: FIX ISSUE. Perfect Catch with Shakespeare Hide-A-Hook Floats
The media could not be loaded. As a dad, there's nothing I love more than sharing my passions with my kids. Fishing has always been a big part of my life, and I couldn't wait to pass it on to my little ones. But, like any parent, safety was my top concern. That's when I stumbled upon the Shakespeare Hide-A-Hook Floats, and let me tell you, they've been a game changer! My 5-year-old son, an eager little angler, was thrilled to finally have a "real" fishing experience. No more plastic lures for him! But, we did hit a snag, like mentioned in other reviews. The barb of the hook provided would get stuck on the rim of the bobber and wouldn't descend to the bottom almost every time it was casted. It was a bit of a downer, but hey, every good fishing story needs a little drama, right? Here's where our tale takes a turn. We found a simple solution - we replaced the original hook with a crappie hook from the Eagle Claw Crappie/Bream Hook Assortment (also available on Amazon). We also added a split shot weight just at the top of the hook. And just like that, we were back in business! Every cast the hook goes down! The first time my son reeled in a crappie, the look on his face was priceless. He went from watching the fish nibble at his lures to actively catching them. It was a proud dad moment for sure. So, if you're a parent looking to share the joy of fishing with your kids in a safe and fun way, I can't recommend the Shakespeare Hide-A-Hook Floats enough. They've brought so much happiness to our family fishing trips, and I'm sure they'll do the same for yours. Happy fishing! 🎣

Great Bobbers for Teaching Kids to Fish
Pros: Kid-Friendly Design: The Hide-A-Hook feature is brilliant for beginners. It keeps the hook hidden until there's a bite, which gives me peace of mind and makes fishing safer and less intimidating for my kids. Easy Casting: These bobbers are weighted just right, making them easier for my kids to cast accurately. It's been a confidence booster for them as they learn the ropes of casting and reeling in their catch. Built to Last: These bobbers are tough! They've survived multiple fishing trips without any signs of wear and tear, even with my kids' enthusiastic handling. Colorful and Visible: The bright colors make them easy to spot in the water, which is great for keeping an eye on where their lines are and helping them stay engaged in the fishing process. Cons: Size Consideration: They might be a bit bulky for very young children or for fishing in tight spots where precision casting is crucial. Overall, the Shakespeare Hide-A-Hook Bobbers have made fishing outings with my kids so much more enjoyable. They combine safety features with durability and ease of use, making them a perfect choice for families looking to bond over fishing adventures.

Perfect for my 5 year old to learn how to fish without getting hurt.

Overall worth it
Good product, the jig gets stuck on the outside of the bobber so it has to be adjusted so the hook is hidden inside the ring otherwise it won’t release properly, but as long as you hide the hook in the ring, it works as intended

Safe option for fishing with littles
The concept works well enough. Easy to attach. I would suggest checking the knot on the attachment piece already attached to be sure it will hold strong. My son had to go in and retrieve the bobber cause it unattached after first cast. My husband just made sure to tighten up the knots already in place from packaging after that.
