We have been getting this coffee for over a year. This is the first review that I have provided for the coffee. Admittedly, we are not coffee snobs :) nor have we tried hundreds of different kinds of coffee. If you like a lighter (not very dark) roast I would suggest you give this a try. My wife and I both start our days with a cup of the San Francisco coffee. The only negative about the coffee is the expense.. I have been buying SFB coffee for years, ever since I discovered them at Costco, later buying direct from the company. I used to grind the beans and make coffee in a drip machines and was very happy with the flavor. After experiencing a pod machine in our hotel room last month, I bought a small pod coffee machine and was gratified to find that SFB makes their coffee in pods. So far I have not been disappointed with the pods. I see some complaints about this product, but take it from someone who grew up when there was nothing but percolated Folgers coffee, I have no complaints at all. ... show more

**UPDATE 5/17/23: I reached out directly to the coffee company about the bursting pods since I was past Amazon’s 30-day policy. I supplied them with some information and photos, and they sent me a replacement box. Customer service for San Fran Bay Coffee (directly) is outstanding. I still love the coffee and the company’s customer service, but still give 4 stars due to the bursting pods. If the issue doesn’t reappear after a few months, I will update to 5 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I love this coffee - this French roast is one of the few I’ve tried that doesn’t get sour/bitter/unpalatable when it sits for a bit (I’m a mom- my coffee gets reheated a LOT). I often brew one in a travel mug for work days and have it with lunch. It’s a great brew. HOWEVER, I’m only halfway through the last box I got, and I have had a LEAST 6 pods break open while brewing. Today’s was the worst- so much to clean up, and I’m wasting so many pods (I make a big cup of coffee, so usually brew each pod twice). I never know what I’m going to get, and it doesn’t help to have this happen on a busy morning trying to get out the door. Unfortunately, I’m past the return or replace window - 30 days and 80 pods… I’m sure you can do that math. Sigh. Honestly, I love this brew so much (I’ve been drinking it for years); I will take another chance on one more box, but if the pods keep exploding, I’ll have to find another coffee because it’s a huge waste of money, time and energy to deal with so many exploding pods. ... show more

Wow, I'm really impressed at the flavor for the price of these pods. It's always a risk when you buy a lil cheaper coffee but I'm very happy with this brand. The coffee is a tiny bit "oily" on top once brewed compared to others I've tried but honestly it doesn't negatively affect the flavor or drinkability. Would buy this again for sure. ... show more

I've tried too many brands of coffee to count in search of the right one for me. This one is it! The k-pods are completely different from normal ones. You can see the coffee through the mesh portion of the pod. They come sealed in breathable bags. As soon as you open the bag, you can smell the aroma of the coffee. I wish I could leave a review just for the Variety Pack. For the other 'flavors', I'd give 5 stars! But the variety pack of dark roast is just 4 separate bags, one of each flavor. To keep fresh, I only like to open one bag at a time, or sometimes two bags, if I have two flavors, like a dark and a medium. I thought a variety pack would allow me to have more different flavors to choose from, especially when I have guests. But I would have to open ALL 4 BAGS to give my guests the choice of 4 flavors and that's too much to have open at once. Please make a true variety pack, where each bag has a mix of flavors. ... show more

A good smooth medium roast. Because these are biodegradable pods, they actually give off the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee when I take each one out of the bag. I’m definitely going to reorder!

Very tasty and fresh coffee. I prefer dark robust coffees and love this brand’s French roast. Dark roast is good and my number 2 choice. Colombian coffee is too whimpy for my taste but has good flavor. Coffees come in sealed packages that maintain freshness well.
