I've been churning out facemasks and unfortunately, because they have wire for shaping the nose, I've managed to accidentally hit the wire and break 2 sewing machine needles. I needed a good multi-pak set of replacement needles on hand (as I learn to be more careful in sewing the masks). This set from Phinus absolutely fits the bill. I'm in the middle of teaching sewing home economics and skills to several kids. That means. A lot of broken needles. I decided to try these since running to the store twice a week, spending $5 on a five pck of machine needles was obviously missing the point on "shop-2-save independence." The packaging can be considered skimpy I guess. But honestly it was just less waste to throw out, and I already have needle cases. So no complaints there. Also while there's nothing but continued teaching and learning that can avoid a broken/bent needle from the young learners making the same mistakes we all do at first, I have to say. The points on these needles are holding up really well. I end every session with a machine breakdown and clean. The points are still clean, sharp, and showing minimal wear. I only gave a 4 star rating on durability due to only using these needles for a week. Highly recommend.

I have an old Janome machine and purchased replacement needles with another brand name on them. Those needles gave me nothing but trouble. So in my troubleshooting effort, I bought these needles which claimed compatibility with my Janome machine. When they arrived, I tried a medium one in my machine, and the sewing was even with out tangles, skipping or breaking. I am very pleased so far. My only complaint would be that i wish they had come in a resealable container to keep them from spilling around.

I like the package on these. I think sometimes there is wayyyy tooooo much plastic on sewing needles packaging. The plastic was minimal. Plus since it was a soft plastic container I could easily fit in into the storage compartment on my machine. I think they worked good and the price is great. You really should change your needle fairly often if you are doing high volume projects. Since I tend to break needles while sewing masks I appreciate that the cost is so low and that it is a high quantity as well. I can blow through a standard pack you can get at Walmart. Worked well in my brother sewing machine.

Machine owned: Janome HD 3000 I bought product based on reviews. I inspected and examined the needles minutely, with a magnifying glass. Upon gross inspection: needles show no sign of factory defects, smooth no signs of burs/nicks, point in good condition. Upon magnification: no signs of factory defects, smooth no signs of burs/nicks, point in good condition. I fitted them into my machine (fit: good) and sewed (1) face mask to see their performance. Needle handled task without any problem. I also tested the needle strength (if metal is easily bendable): average flexibility. I compared the tests with my organ needles, same style (universal) and numbers. The product visibility and performance: similar to organ.

Since I've been sewing an enormous amount this past year, I've gone through a good amount of needles, especially when I've been sewing around wiring for face masks. I was tickled when I found I could purchase a large amount of universal needles in all sizes at this price. The pricing for 50 needles was the same price for a qty 8 at a popular fabric store. The needles were individually packaged and marked by size in durable place resealable bags. The needles fit all major brand machines. My next orders will be for my daughters so they don't keep taking mine!! This should be the only vendor to purchase sewing machine needles from. I'm curious what other things they carry.

These needles seem to LOOK good after careful inspection, but it is impossible to see/read the needle size that should be stamped on them. I ordered this particular set because the ratings seemed good, and they had just the right mix of sizes that I wanted. And because they were cheap - unless I know specifically that the quality of a product is poor, I ALWAYS buy the lowest priced item that meets my needs. And therein lies my one major complaint here - the packaging sucks. These needles are in simple sealed soft plastic packets that do not provide capabilities for opening and resealing, so that, combined with the fact that the markings on the needles themselves are virtually non-existent, promises that I will be regretting this choice long into the future as I try to decide what needle is in the machine and what needle I need to find for the next project. I have not used these enough to actually rate them as needles, but I do wish I had chosen one of the other products that provided nice tubes or boxes for storing the needles with a clear indication of size.
