Needle is as described, as expected. They are packaged in a small plastic box, which under normal circumstances, might not be a problem. In this situation, it was a problem. Upon arrival the plastic box was broken so the needles fell out and a couple of them then apparently slipped out of the mailing package through a small hole. I saw an online video that seemed to demonstrate that Singer brand needles work really well in a Singer brand heavy duty sewing machine. So I bought some to try out. The first time I tried one of these I got a lot of pounding and the machine seemed to be struggling to punch through a few layers of lightweight cotton duck. So I switched back to a Schmetz denim needle, which worked a lot better. I didn't bother to check if the other two Singer needles in the pack would perform any better. They looked about the same, so I assumed they'd perform about the same. My experience is anecdotal, so I don't want to knock off more than one star, but I'll just stick with Schmetz even if they aren't a perfect fit for the Singer machine. So far, used to sew heavy duck type material of back pack. Couldn't sew full speed, of course, but needle held up well and penetrated multiple layers of fabric without much trouble.

These are the only ones that fit my little old machine and always have to have these in stoxk. Seller was very quick with shipping. They wear out far quicker than I like, but it is what it is. Great price
