  • Really helpful
I'm new to golf and this has taught me more about swing timing. It would be better if it came with some drills to try out though.

  • Well made but feels very different to hitting a ball with a golf club
I was curious about these golf training aids so I got this to work on my golf swing. the product quality seems to be high. It's pretty sturdy, has a nice feel for the grip, and clicks well. However, it definitely gives a completely different sensation compared to hitting a golf ball with an actual club. Kind of weird. This is supposed to help with grip and swing and indicate whether my down swing is correct, but we'll see if it's any good. I'm not sure if I'll use this for pure practice, might just use it to warm up before the driving range or a round of gofl. Overall, it's pretty solid. I think it would make a good gift for someone that is getting into golf. ... show more

  • Surprisingly Helpful
The grip is designed to force your hands into the commonly accepted "proper" way to manipulate a club, however you still need to have a little foreknowledge of how you should place your hands, as you can still mishandle it if you're unsure of what you're doing; there are plenty of great videos on YT that can help show you how to place your hands on the grip, and this tool will aid you in quickly getting your hands into a good position (and keeping them there). It can certainly help you get a better feel and understanding of maintaining a good tempo, and while it can be difficult to determine for yourself if the click is happening at the exact "right" spot, it will definitely let you know if you're unloading way too early, way too late, or really not at all. The ball on the end can also help you or a training partner track the path your swing takes, so if you're swing is off-kilter (as it were) it's easier to spot. I'm finding this tool is also a great anxiety relief in the middle of the night - my neighbors don't appreciate me belting balls into my net at 3 AM in the backyard, so it's nice to have something with a little tactile feedback I can swing around in my house and not have to stress about putting a driver through a low ceiling. The 2 biggest drawbacks are: 1) Really only suited for average-ish sized hands - if you have large hands, you may find this grip to be uncomfortable or even unusable. Smaller hands will probably be alright. 2) No adjustability... I have no idea what speed swing this is meant to emulate, so it's usefulness in the long run may be limited. If you could adjust the head weight to simulate different clubs, and the spring tension so that the device clicks at a given head speed, then this would be such an excellent product. However, considering the price, the relative quality, and what you *can* use this training aid for, I think it's a pretty good buy. Despite the drawbacks it's still a useful, and surprisingly affordable tool. ... show more

  • Grip is made for smaller hands, swing training not so much
As a grip aid, it fairly good device but it's made for a right-handed person with fairly small hands. You really have to compress your fingers to properly fit all on your fingers on the grip --- especially the middle two right fingers. As a swing aid, I can hear/feel the click when releasing at impact but it not very precise and in the end I probably wouldn't use this for my swing. ... show more

  • This is pretty great
I;m not one for golf aids, so for me to try this and like this is meaningful I think. I;ve been playing at golf for many years and was scratch at one point. I;ve been trying to recover lost distance and this device will help I think. The big thing is that the swingweight seems very much appropriate for a golf club and you can swing it in small places. Maybe in the office, the kitchen, etc. It seems well made so should last a long time. Some may find the grip a bit awkward. When you hold this device you will be in a very conventional grip and many people dont seem to have conventional grips. This would make it a good way to change your grip to something conventional but also make it awkward at first. I wear a medium-large cadet glove and wish there was just a little more room for my hands. Someone with large hands or very small hands may struggle with this. The way it expands and collapses is pretty genius I think, but is not going to not click with any sort of semi reasonable swing. The key is to not let it click/release too early in your swing. That would mean you are 'flipping' your wrists too early This is something great to have near the sofa. Just pick it up when you have something you want to work on and swing away. Hope this review helps out. ... show more

  • GOOD TRAINER
THE BEST PART OF THIS TRAINER IS THE HAND POSITIONING. IT REALLY GIVES YOU A FEEL FOR THE PROPER GRIP, AND IT TRANSLATES TO THE ACTUAL GOLF CLUB VERY WELL. SECOND BEST THING IS YOU CAN USE IT ANYWHERE. INSIDE OR OUTSIDE IT IS A GREAT TRAINING AID.

  • Love the retractable feature!
I got this because of the retractability of the charging cord. Not having charging cords laying around in my car when they aren't in use is a big plus. I also like that the top part swivels in two directions so that you can adjust it out of the way when not in use, though it does move rather stiffly. It has both a USB-c port and a USB-a port for plugging in other devices to be charged. The two retractable cords are a lightning connector for older iPhones and a Type C connector that every other device has used for several years and that newer iPhones are now using. Charging times are fairly quick. I'm very happy with this at the moment. I hope the retractable feature of the cords continues to perform well over time. ... show more
