Description

An ice alternative that far outperforms ice, Cooler Shock reusable ice packs are designed to provide extended cooling at 18 degrees F that can last up to 48 hours. Great for camping, picnics, boating, fishing, tailgating, and any perishable transport (both personal and commercial), Cooler Shock ice packs turn warm drinks ice cold in the cooler and your sandwiches won't turn soggy from melting ice. Just return Cooler Shock to your freezer and they'll be ready for the next outing. Cooler Shock ice packs are shipped dry with a proprietary cooling gel mixture inside that turns into a solid block when frozen. Just add water at home, shake, and seal to create reusable ice packs that can be used over and over. Choose from two closure types: Cooler Shock's flexible, multi-layer bags are made with aluminum and polyethylene to keep the contents secure and reinforced with thin nylon to help strengthen the pack. Measuring about one-fifth the thickness of rigid ice packs, Cooler Shock's thin walls (8 mils, or about 0.2 mm) both freeze more quickly and transfer chill in a cooler more effectively. Cooler Shock's proprietary cooling gel mixture is more dense than ice and uses a scientific phase change formulation, providing a higher energy concentration for sustained cooling at 18 degrees F (read more below). When paired with a high quality cooler, Cooler Shock ice packs will keep your food and drink chilled longer — up to 48 hours for Large and Medium packs, and up to 8 hours for Lunch packs. Return Cooler Shock ice packs to the freezer after using and they'll be ready for your next outing. Cooler Shock ice packs will pay for themselves in just a couple outings (compared to the cost of 10 to 20 pounds of ice) — and no extra trip to the store. Ice starts out at freezer temperature and will warm fairly quickly to its melting point (32 degrees F). Once at melting point, the ice will stay at the same temperature during the whole process of melting. After fully melting, the liquid starts to warm normally again. Cooler Shock ice packs also start out at freezer temperature, and will warm pretty quickly, but it's melting point is at a much lower temperature — 18 degrees F. During the whole process of melting, Cooler Shock stays at this lower temperature. When the gel liquid inside Cooler Shock packs warms up, it's starting from that colder melting point — enabling Cooler Shock packs to stays much cooler, much longer compared with the same amount of regular ice. abunda_amazon_reviews So I LOVE this product. I work anywhere from 12-20 hour days being on call and I can put 2 or 3 of these in my lunch pale and keep food COLD for the full 20 hour days! Which is absolutely amazing!! However I am disappointed that they are not lasting as long as I expected. I purchased in April and two have already cracked in the corners and are leaking out the gel stuff. (See photo). I’m hoping to contact the company in hopes they will replace the two that have broken in under 3 months. Other than that, these are great. *****UPDATE***** I reached out to the seller and they promptly replaced the two that had cracked with no questions asked. They shipped out next business day and arrived in perfect condition. 10/10 would recommend.;;Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;GREAT product, wore out fast.;;Lyss M;;/gp/customer-reviews/R1SMO603D87TN6/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B078FR9CND;;;If like me, you have been waiting for Cooler Shock to release a small-size version of their cooler pack for lunch bags, wait no longer - this is what you need in your life right now. Two months ago after I bought the medium pack (4 Mid Size Cooler Freeze Packs 10"x 9" - No More Ice! Cooler Shock Replaces Ice & Reusable. You Add Water & Save!) and discovered arguably the best cooling pack on Amazon (don't take my word for it, read the reviews over on that product page), I came across a comment left by a Cooler Shock rep that they are working on a small size suitable for lunch packs, and I have been waiting patiently ever since. The medium pack is unparalleled in its performance - after an entire day at the office, I'll come home and my drink is still frozen. The issue that I and many others had was that the medium pack is a tiny bit too large in both dimensions for lunch bags - I had to fold the edges in to get it to fit. Well the solution is finally here. This lunch bag size cooling pack is the best of all worlds: - It uses the same tried-and-true material as other Cooler Shock packs: a phase-change material that can absorb an enormous amount heat without itself warming up. - The screw cap seal is the easiest to set up by far: prepping 4 medium packs with an iron took me almost an hour; by comparison, I had all 5 small packs set up in 10 minutes. - Unless you have a lunch bag for ants, this size will fit all lunch bags. If you can put a typical-sized tupperware in your lunch bag, this cooler pack will fit. - I've used it for a few days now and can confirm 10 hours of cooling. If you work a typical 9 - 5, that's more than enough to keep food at a safe temperature all day long from fridge (morning) to fridge (evening). It won't have the same 24 - 48 hour cooling duration as the medium pack, but that's overkill for lunch bags anyway. The only downside I can think of: - Not ideal for use in ice chests. But that's what the medium and large versions of the Cooler Shock are for anyway. If you have used Cooler Shock's other packs in the past, you know how good they are, and you won't be disappointed in the lunch bag packs. ==EDIT== I've now tested the Cooler Shock in an insulated lunch bag, sitting in a room kept at 70°F, monitored with a thermocouple - see the results in the picture. The ice pack started from the freezer at 4°F, reached 32°F at 10.1 hours, and reached 40°F (the maximum recommended temperature for keeping food refrigerated) after 12.2 hours - corroborating reviews from others reporting the ice packs lasting up to 12 hours.;;Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Finally - the best cooling pack, now available in lunch bag size! 12+ hours - test results here.;;Steve C;;/gp/customer-reviews/R26O073XN0LC87/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B078FR9CND;;;These ice packs work great and stayed frozen solid for 8hrs in my kids insulated lunch boxes. I put the ice packs in at 6:30 am and when the kids reach in for an afternoon snack at 3:00 pm, everything is still fresh. The shape of the ice packs is ideal, too; they’re relatively flat and wide, so they cover the entire bottom of a standard kid’s lunch box. One thing to know about these is that the company saves on shipping costs by sending the ice packs with “some assembly required.” Basically you have to pour water into them (which mixes with the pellets inside to form a gel), then seal them with a silicone plug and a cap. Trust me, it’s very easy (I’m a klutz) and takes 10 minutes to do.
