I like the usb feature as my set is placed in an area where it would be a pain in the neck to manually shut off if they were battery only. A flip of the switch makes it so easy to use. These trees are very pretty when set up, and add a festive fall look to any room. A few of things to note: 1) Some of the other reviews mentioned that the trunk is wrapped in electric tape. This is true, and if you look at it very closely, it’s noticeable. However, you literally have to be right on top of it to see it. When it’s displayed and plugged in, I don’t even notice it. 2) The trees come tightly wrapped, and you’ll have to spend some time shaping all of the branches. In the process, some of the leaves fell out. However, it’s pretty easy to snap them back on to the branch over the lights. 3) There are other maple tree sets like these on Amazon that are probably better quality, but you’ll definitely pay more. The main feature that sold me on these trees was the fact that they can also be powered through USB. That means a lot when considering how short the battery life is on these products. It was nice to have the option to simply plug these in. Overall, I think for the money these are a pretty good value, and achieve the same effect as other more expensive versions. ... show more
