    • Just put these in my Acura MDX.

Easy enough to install, If you get the old ones off you should easily be able to figure out how to put the new ones on. However, if you're looking for some trick to doing it easily, just slip a flathead screwdriver underneath the metal band and leave the screwdriver in place and tap the strut out with a hammer. Light taps only. Leaving the screwdriver in place pulls it out just enough so that it releases. don't try and pull the metal band all the way out. good idea to wear eye protection anyway. Nothing hardcore, just a pair of glasses will be good enough. after installing just one, it was enough to keep my hood open alone. However, I always install these in pairs because having both the left and right at the same torque is just best practice. ... show more

I have an old Acura MDX 2003 and it worked great to replace the old ones that lost gas pressure. Extremely easy to install. Look for a YouTube video on how to install. Takes less than 10 minutes.

These struts are not a good match to the 2002 Acura MDX. They provide way too much lifting force, making it very difficult to close the rear hatch, They would work on a hatch that is much heavier, not the 02 MDX hatch.
