This is a nice set of hand weights, but I do wish I had read the description more thoroughly before ordering. When unpacking the weights, I was initially surprised by the size of the weights. They are much larger than the weights in a 1 pound set that I already had. The 1 pound weight is the black and yellow weight shown in the accompanying photos. Once I realized the weights were soft, the reason for the bulkiness was explained. My original weight feels like it is filled with lead shot, while these weights from Serenilite feel as though they contain sand. The largest of the weights (3 lbs) is about 7 inches long, which feels a bit unwieldy during movement. Because they are large, the weights are awkward to hold and the straps are much too loose. Instead of attaching the straps in a position where they would be tight on your hand, they are just sewn at each end of the weight, resulting in a long, loose strap. The strap on the 1 lb (pink) weight is OK, but the others are very loose.. You then must keep a tight grip on the weight to keep it from sliding, which is rather inconvenient. I am a female with large hands, but these weights are uncomfortable for me to hold. The covers are a durable material and the stitching is tight and secure. The weights seem to be of good quality, but the bulkiness is a bust for me.

I’m back on my fitness journey, so I was really excited to see these hand weights offered in three sizes. I have a few regular dumbbells and one soft hand weight, but it is much firmer than these, and I’m not sure of the exact weight as the size is not printed. What I like about these weights are that they are not as firm (the inside filling feels like a heavy bean bag), and the cloth is very soft. If you have issues with hand strength due to arthritis or chronic pain, these are perfect for you because of the softness—and they won’t damage your wood or tile floors if you lose your grip and drop them. I just had surgery two weeks ago and even though I was not able to do any heavy lifting or my normal full body workout routine, I could still do some light arm workouts from bed. These would be great for people who are recuperating from surgery, who are beginning an exercise routine, seniors, or who are toning and want light weights. You can also use them to do arm exercises while walking around your neighborhood or while sitting at your desk when you work from home and you’re in a meeting or you need to take a 5 – 10 minute power workout break. I also appreciate that you know exactly which weight you are using because they are brightly colored (different colors for different sizes) and the sizes are listed on both ends of the weight. Although I rated these a five, I will say that it would be nice to have a removable cover. You have natural oils on your hands and you are likely storing these on the ground when not in use, so they can get dirty. That being said, you can spot clean them with a cloth. Additionally, I have larger hands for a woman, so I don’t see it as a problem, but someone with smaller hands may find the straps to be too loose, especially on the 3lb weight. Each weight gets progressively longer—the 2lb is longer than the 1lb and the 3lb is longer than the 2lb—resulting in the strap being longer. Someone with smaller hands may need to secure the strap down more so that they have a tighter grip and the weight feels more secure while exercising.

For the price, I have no complaints whatsoever. It's ready to use, as soon as you get them out of the box. No need to do velcro or anything. Pretty good zie to grab, but the 3-pound one was a bit large for my small-sized hands. I put the photos next to regular dumbbells of the same weight so that you can compare the sizes of hard weight and this one. I requested this because my usual weight bands with Velcro often come loose during kickboxing cardio sessions. I thought this might be a good alternative, and after trying it out during a couple of workouts, I’m happy with how it performed. The dumbbells are soft and comfortable to hold, and the strap provides a secure grip throughout movement. Just be mindful of the outer fabric (even though the material does have a slight coating, but definitely not like the coatings on regular dumbbells). If you tend to sweat heavily, it can get soaked and may require gentle cleaning or care. This is also a great option for walking outdoors, either on its own or in addition to wrist weights if you're looking to increase resistance. Considering the affordable price (especially with the $2 coupon available at the time of this review), this set offers great value in terms of quality and total weight you get.

These hand weights are perfect for walking with. They’re comfortable in the hand. The neoprene helps if your hands get sweaty to still be able to grip the weight. They also have a straps that you put your hand through so you can grip the weight that way if you let go you still have it in your hand. The straps are fixed and not adjustable which could be an issue for someone with small hands. The different weight sizes of 1 pound, 2 pound and 3 pounds are perfect for you to gradually increase your exercise intensity overtime. They are also a great size for someone who’s elderly to be able to use to get some strength training in. There is no assembly needed. They are ready to go right out of the box. The colors are black, pink and teal, and are easy to see. I think one of my favorite parts about these weights was the softness of them, which is not usually something you would see in a hand weight. It makes gripping them a lot easier, and I think also helps your workout be effective because of the comfort involved in these weights. Another bonus is that if you were to drop one of these weights on the floor, it won’t gouge a hole in the floor like heavier, dumbbell type weights would.
