First purchase of Sephora eye liner pencil, and it won't be the last. Top of list, buyers should know the color 'SEPHORA COLLECTION Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof 0.04 Oz 15 Flirting Game - Taupe' is not what I would call Taupe. I would describe it as Medium Bronze (the metal Bronze) -- with a shimmer, not a bling-your-eyes-out shimmer, noticeable mainly when your close up, like when your applying it in a makeup mirror. It's subtle, and I like it a lot, even if it is different that what I expected. Next, application is flawless. I use it both as a lash liner (I didn't try the waterline), and an eye shadow. As a lash liner, it goes on smooth as silk. As a shadow, I draw a solid line on my palm, then I use my smudger pen to blend it on the outer eye lid and up to the beginning of the brow bone. You have to work quick, otherwise the product kind if 'cures' within a minute or two, becoming less able to smudge. Finally, I have oily eye lids -- and that's not good for makeup, as I have learned over the years. I actually applied this Monday morning, went to work, home at 6pm, the mirror shows it hasn't migrated a bit (I always use a base before applying anything). I then decided to give it my biggest challenge -- wear it overnight (just for the test). By morning the lower lash line had migrated (no base in his area), but not much, but surprisingly, the upper lash line had still not migrated (used L'oreal Magic Perfecting Base sparingly). I often have trouble with eye makeup stinging my eyes (sensitivity), most often with eye makeup that has a shimmer. This eye liner doesn't have that affect on me. If you're like me, you have dozens, and probably more, eye makeup pencils. And most of them are barely used because you end up not liking the product. This is a dark brown shimmer and not taupe. The top was very hard to get off and one tug and the tip of the eyeliner broke. It was pretty dry too so I won't buy this brand again. Waste of money.
