(Okay, there may be better nets out there, but they are probably more expensive.) I know it’s weird to be super excited about a pool net, but here we are. I love this net! We have had a small above-ground pool for 6 years, and I have had to buy a new net at least once a year to replace broken/crappy/ineffective ones. The best one we had before this was the similar-looking (but far inferior) blue one with the plastic edge. If you are trying to decide between getting that one or spending a few more dollars on this, buy this. Just do it. It is so worth the extra money. The rubber edge is actually effective in getting those little leaf particles off the bottom of the pool without damaging it (yes, we idiotically put our pool too near a large tree & constantly have leaves falling into it). I worked out of town for 2 (upstate NY) summers straight, so I never opened the pool. On summer #3, I spent the entire time vacuuming and netting frogs for relocation, and never got the pool clean enough to swim in. This summer, I began vacuuming repeatedly, but the years of spruce needles, leaves, algae, sticks, and bugs were 3” deep on the bottom of the pool after 2 days of flocking. Vacuuming was becoming a full time job and replacing the water I used while doing it was tedious since I’m on a well. Then I found this little gem! I wish I could give this thing 10 stars because of all the time it saved me. I run it along the bottom of the pool and it loads up so much debris that it’s hard to even lift it out of the water to dump. All of that debris would have taken me weeks to vacuum up. Two days of netting, letting the debris settle, and netting again, and the pool is vacuum ready. The lesson for me here is to never neglect my pool again like I did. I have a problem with my mango tree dropping a ton of mangoes into my pool. I went away on vacation and came back to a green pool full of mangoes. I had to get them all out with my basket skimmer, but there were so many, the skimmer broke. I ordered this one to replace the broken one, and it worked so well! The rim is reinforced, so the net can’t pop off the frame. The double lined net helped scoop up all the yucky debris. The tab at the bottom of the net makes it so easy to flip over and shake out. It glides across the bottom of the pool easily. So happy with this purchase. Seems like a silly thing to get so jazzed about, but it made a horrible job way faster, easier, and efficient. We’ve struggled with finding a skimmer head we like. Options at the pool store tend to be too flimsy, too small or big, or difficult to clear debris once used. This skimmer head is fantastic! The double layered mesh traps the super fine gunk that never seems to clear; the weight works great for keeping the bag open while skimming below the surface and doubles as a holder to keep the bag open when emptying; the scooped head works fantastic for not damaging the vinyl pool liner- I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality, functionality and price of this skimmer head. 100% recommend and would purchase again. It about half the cost for a similar product in the local pool stores. Which is great. The screen mesh is only glued on to the plastic frame. It is not locked into a grove with a spline. Hence why it is half price. It did work great on the first use. The only issue I have is that in order to lock it on to a telescopic pole you can only use holes that are very close to the end of the pole. They have two additional push bottom to engage or realize it. Which is a nice feature. But they are too close to the two button that lock it on to the pole. ... show more

Appears to be well constructed. Only time will tell for sure. I use for a 560 gallon hot tub and sometimes a 1500 gallon koi pond. It does a fine job. Just needed to bend leading lip flat so it picks up material on bottom.

Little lighter than expected. Takes little long to get to bottom of 8 ft pool, but doesn't fold back on itself which it great; like a deeper net does when you're moving it around to get leaves.
