I got fist the blue yeti but the sound was not as good as I thought , got this one to compare and the yeti instantly went back much better in any regards , the buttons are great , you don't need any app, it's plug and play . I purchased both this mike and an AT2020USB-X to compare them. Both were immediately detected by my system. Good points about the Sennheiser: - build: solid, heavy construction - nice boom arm - soft touch button Ultimately, I returned this Sennheiser, which was a disappointment; I have many Sennheiser products and have been very pleased with them. With this mike I had to keep the Gain at 100% to have a decent volume so there is no point in having the Gain control in that case! The Gain control was the single reason I even tried the Sennheiser, since the AT had better specs anyway. ... show more

The boom arm and mic have a quality in build that I appreciate. The mic sounds muddy a bit and there just isn't a way to fix this. Gain all the way up or the audio is too quiet. Ultimately, quite disappointing for the package price. I wish I had returned.
