  • Solid vocal mic
Style: e845-S
I'm using this mic with a simple XLR to USB adapter for online meetings instead of the built in mic on my webcam. It has made a huge difference and I've had comments about my good audio quality. This is not a super high-end mic for recording applications, but for online meetings, it is excellent and the quality is way better than a webcam mic. I chose the 845 over the 835 because of the super cardioid pattern which I thought would be a bit better at rejecting sound from the room, or from the computer speakers, focusing just on my voice. Also, I found that this version, the one with the switch, was a bit cheaper so even though I really don't need the switch, I saved a few dollars. For my application, online meetings, there's no need to get a more expensive microphone. This has super high durability great audio quality at an affordable price. PROS: * "Built like a tank" * Super cardioid pattern great for off-axis rejection like room noise or computer speakers * Understated look CONS: * Not a super high-end microphone but great for basic vocal applications I've used many microphones for multiple applications over the years. I was tempted to buy a much more expensive microphone for my online meetings, but realized that no one would notice the difference between an $80 mic and a $500 mic, so I decided to go with a tried and true basic workhorse. The look of this mic is understated and not distracting. This was a perfect purchase for my use case and is working quite well. ... show more

  • Excellent build quality & performance
Style: e845-S
I just received the Sennheiser e845S microphone. My decision to purchase it was based upon my experience and use of a Sennheiser e835 microphone I've been using for about 2 years. I'll start with the build quality. Sennheiser makes a good looking, solid product that stands up well to regular use. The weight, feel and balance in my hands is just what I want in a vocal mic. It compares equally or even slightly better than a Shure SM57 or SM58. I have used both Shure products side-by-side with the Sennheiser and find that the overall tone and voice reproduction of the Sennheiser is clearer and replicates my nuanced inflections more naturally. I wanted an on/off switch and the e845S fits that requirement. The switch is large, ergonomically correct, and does not emit a noise when switching it on or off. Now that my music journey is beginning to take shape, the addition of a second vocal microphone is needed. I play harmonica mostly and have specific mics for them, however, I often like to play through a vocal microphone for a purer, melodic sound at times. Both of my Sennheiser microphones work well, are simple to use, durable like a tank and look outstanding. ... show more

  • Best Least Expensive Dynamic Microphone
Style: e845
OMG!!! I have been singing on and off stage for over 15 years. I have been using many other people's equipment cause I never found that I needed to buy a microphone (never really sang INTO(ATE) the microphone, so I never worried about health concerns). Anyway, recently being in a cover band, I needed my own microphone. I purchased one not too long ago from a reputable brand and the microphone is good, just not for my vocals (Male Tenor I). I then searched high and low and remembered using a Senny e935 a while back that worked well but not well enough. I went on line and checked out one video of a guy using the e845 to record vocals and I was absolutely stunned. The crispness and clarity that comes from this microphone is unbelievable, I actually think it sounds better than the e935 (that is just my two cents). To end this review, I used this microphone last night in a practice environment where I had to strain my vocals with the previous microphone (unable to push the gain on that one). This microphone had me doubting, at first, if the rest of the band was playing loud enough. My vocals cut through the instruments without even the slightest strain. All the members were able to make out every last syllable; and even when I had to push the gain and volume up (for the harder rock tunes) this microphone was able to handle beyond most other microphones I have used in the past. If you are looking for a less expensive, but AMAZING microphone, the e845 is it. I haven't tried the e945, but I have tried the e935 and this beats it hands down. ... show more

  • Thess Mics sound great
Style: e845
Bought these mics to replace my old handheld mics and I was not disappointed. They came packed welled and on time. I am a DJ/KJ and sound is very important to me, and I can truly say that these mics delivered. I would highly recommend and would definitely bad again.

  • Great Microphone, A Little Prone To Feedback
Style: e845
So I previously had the benchmark for live sound, Shure SM 58. It was destroyed by some ham fisted movers a few years ago. I mostly was doing the karaoke thing in my home studio and didn't realize I bought an SM 48 as a replacement. I recently joined a band again and they were commenting that they could not hear me through the mix. I realized the mic was not a 58. I researched and was going to buy another 58 but the reviews were a little better on this one and I also got $20 off for a Warehouse Deal (used, but likely just a return). Anyway, this is a fantastic mic and a lot more clear than the 48. Is it better than the 58? Can't say, but I like it and am glad I purchased it. ... show more
