I have some pecan trees in my yard and the squirrels and birds love to leave a mess on our cars. I purchased this item for that reason. I like the product and it’s easy to use once you get the hang of it. I only wish that it was a bit larger to cover the car completely. It takes a few times to get it positioned just right but overall a pretty good product and I’m glad I made this purchase ( a bit pricey) but worth it as long as it lasts a good long while. First, this isn't meant to replace a garage or carport. It is for when you are traveling, camping, etc. We were skeptical if it would hold up but wanted something to protect the car from tree sap when parked during camping, or when pulled over at a rest stop to keep the temperatures down in the hot summer travel vacation. We are several weeks into our summer vacation and it has worked exceptionally well. Setup time after learning how it works, is literally under 2 minutes from pulling out of the trunk, to walking away. Some one asked about bird poop. I only came across one instance of seeing a small white duce and easily brushed it off. It's not like we are parking under a high wire where tons of birds are around. It also comes in handy as a shade tent with the optional ground stand. As long as the wind isn't bad, it's perfect. Just anchor down the corners with longer straps. I didn't think I needed it to be motorized but wow, that works very cool! Just tap the button or remote and it expands or folds within about 10 seconds. It folds up about the size of say 4 umbrellas mashed together. Not bad at all. My only wish would be for them to make one just a little longer for the big SUVs. Currently we move it forward to cover the front hood more than the back. Great investment! ... show more

Intriguing concept, but didn't work for me. I bought this because I have to park my Nissan Rogue under a tree at night and every few days it's covered in bird poop. Unfortunately, this didn't;t work out. First, the car has some a little bit of a rack on the roof, I think it's more cosmetic than functional, but it did function to block the opening up of the umbrella. I managed to work around it by raising the umbrella a little before engaging the suction cup, but it was too laborious to do day after day. Even without that extra step the install process is a little labor intensive. Once it's up, it is a thing of beauty, but I decided for this price I would just get more car washes. ... show more

This umbrella covers my car completely but if you have a coupe you will need some additional adjustable straps to anchor the front and back of the umbrella from the wheels. Also the built in straps should be at least 1 foot longer. In my case this is not very practical to have the umbrella set this way but at least it is very well anchored. I need to find a bungee cord with plastic hooks to make the on and off process faster and easier. I feel that options for different solution should come in the box or at least they should offer the options, is not that complicated. So I am giving the product only 3 star because this issue was not clearly explained in the specs. ... show more

3/6/23- this is day 1 (picture below) I'm 5'3" so lifting this up to the middle of the roof and tightening the straps was a bit challenging and I ended up putting it on a little too far back so the pollen is still getting on the hood. But, for the most part it's doing what I bought it to do! My designated parking spot is directly under 2 giant live oak trees and my white car was constantly getting covered with leaves and pollen! Which I am allergic to! the reviews I read before buying said the wind was a problem for them, well, I took my leaf blower to it to test and it seemed to hold up pretty good so we'll see when the real wind blows! Overall I'm happy with this umbrella and the more I put it up and down the easier it will be. Oh and be aware of the sensitivity of the remote and the button on the handle, the slightest touch sets it off in one direction or the other.! ... show more

I was so excited to receive this cover for my BMW i3… that was until I realized how big and heavy it is to handle. I can’t even get this thing into the center of my roof (not a tall car). I’m not super strong, but certainly not weak. The only way I would have been able to get it in the roof properly would be to step into the door edge which is really slick on my car as it’s carbon fiber. I wish I could speak to the actual operation but it didn’t seem worth the trouble of getting a step ladder out to put on and take off every single day. A regular car cover is much easier. There’s also a regular breeze in my area which from other reviews makes me think this may not be the best to use. This seemed neat in theory but actual use is another story. Seemed decently made, but can’t speak for durability. I saw another review complain that the battery can only be charged with a car plug in, but mine also came with a regular walk plug for the charger. ... show more

Love this product. It took a few tries to figure it out. A male friend put it up first time but I had to handle afterwards. Umbrella gets caught either on antenna or top of car brackets so I now know what to pay attention to when unfolding. I live in Houston so I really needed some shade since my Toyota Matrix is Black on Black leather. So far I'm really loving it ... show more
